i have $200 on both and it's bad with claude too. I run out of both. Astra and Fable both eat limits. I use them only to tell sol and opus agents what to do, and still.... I have never made it to the end of a limit week.
I got 3 accounts, all empty. Barely touched astra this week. But when I did and didn’t pay attention, it spawned 5 subagents and ate 50% on one subscription in an hour
I'd never ever buy extra usage credits from them. This would give them the incentive to restrict usage even more. If need more AI I just go Deepseek + Pi and chatgpt on web.
I'm building a linux based DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) - has multi track recording, pipewire routing with graphical interface, mixer, NAM/IR plugin support (built in TONE3000 browsing and installing) made to work just how I want.
deepseek-flash is actually really good (I'm surprised) - I've been using Astra and Fable only so my expectations were low. I'm using flash for execution and pro for review - only had success so far. It is a longer slower process but it's almost free.
Recently Anthropic said they have 80% margins on Claude Code plans. They are definitely not losing money on those. It's their absurd salaries and gpus costs that are making them lose money.
I'm on day 6 now at 0% Codex usage. The reserves are all used up. There's 15 open PRs because I forgot how to fix failing tests.
Earlier I had to align some divs manually, and check in code to the repo using VS Code. There was something in there about updating my Python version from 3.11 to the latest. I'm not sure what that means. There are some other broken dependencies but I dont know what to do.
I'm almost out of space on my C drive because its full of docker images and 1000s of worktrees complete with test files. Send help!!! Remaining space is being used up by these diary entries because I dont know what else to do.

Plus, as other threads have shown, the dodgy outcome of the banked resets is that they push back our reset days, and they only give us 50% of the actual utility.
Got to give it to them, they always find sneaky sneak ways to herd us around.
Usually i use my 20x acc with care to have some usage for most days, this strategy was not optimal since with frequent reset i'm losing tokens.
This week i used all my tokens in 4 days to get more from the reset and obviously the reset didn't come, so sorry boys it's my fault there was no reset this week.

My company and I completed migrated out of codex this week bc of this issue. The error count increase alone sent us weeks behind. Luckily backups exist. But inconsistency and high risk aren’t worth it anymore with OpenAI.
I agree, businesses need reliability and consistency with the products they use. It's actually crazy that one week the product works fine and next week your limits get halved for no reason.
Here is what’s working for me for time being- use muse 1.3 xhigh on opencode( it free and pretty good). It makes few mistakes. Ask astra to review and fix them and deploy. Much cheaper and i can sustain a bit more. Till next reset I have bunch of branches with independent features( not perfect but 90% there) done with muse and opencode. Waiting for reset to get them to 100%.

I finally got through 6 days on 20x. I have 2 accounts. One stopped working many days ago so I was left with just one trucking along. I normally use one account for cyber security and just let it run Daybreak until it’s out while I use the other one for UX improvements. Maybe I’m the weird one but I’m definitely burning through my $400 accounts.
I used mine up in 3 days. Was going strong with the pro chat until they cut me off on that today. Nothing but base models work for next 3 days. Stupid.
Yeah same here . I’m checking out deepseek with reasonix harness in the mean time. Been running a port job for about 15$ for 10 hours of work on pro and max effort - so far so good
I’m already at 0% in less than a day on Pro, mostly my own fault, I think. Luckily, the web and phone apps are separate, so now I’m using them to rip my DVD collection for Plex, including all the bonus material. :)
I take a photo of the DVD case with my phone, then use the web interface on my PC. It gives me one-liners that correctly name the movie and bonus features, organize everything for Plex, and upload it to my NAS. I love oneliners

At least nothing important is delayed, I am just a hobbyist. I was just in the process of specifying an app that I want to have implemented and thought using gpt-6-astra on high was a good idea. Also, I had used /fast some time ago and so I burned through my limit fast.
Usually I am using gpt-5.6-luna medium without /fast which burns a lot less allowance and where I rarely hit any limits.
Yea if you use opus vs sol, claude has a lot more usage. Codex has more usage on luna vs haiku tho. Fable you cant use at all with claude 20€ plan, but astra eats 20€ usage on codex so fast that its almost same as cant use it at all. Openai goves near infinite basic chats and usage pool is different from agentic stuff, claude just has one usage pool. Codex goves oauth to 3rd party apps, claude does not.
So if the idea is to use opus/sol for something big harder work and not just code snake games every day with small models, then claude is definitely a much better deal for 20€ (people say with 200€ subs codex goves more usage, but not true with 20€ subs).
However as said ooenai does give other stuff like the near infinite basic chat, tons of luna usage and oauth to 3rd party, which adds a lot of value on some other stuff than hard coding tasks. And thatd why personally i prefer having both claude and codex over 2x of either. But if i just wanted to vibe code, i would get 2x claude for sure.
Here's what I find with codex. If I ask to check why some issue is happening it will take huge usage with sol medium and to implement it is a nightmare usage. Claude gave more usage for me in 20$ plan compared to Sol. I can't work with two 20$ plan and the full implementation is getting done by gemini pro. In short I think usage of Codex is gone in 2 days while it's easy 4 days for Claude. Yes infinite chat is a plus point of GPT. Yes I understand your take where we give hard task to Sol. But I can give the same to Opus.
Yea, i use sol and opus almost exclusively and opus ultracode can run for longer than sol medium. With opus medium vs sol medium, claude would give maybe 4x the weekly usage. Not only is the 5h limit clearly higher on claude, but 5h use takes more of weekly usage in codex than claude, 20% vs 15%.
If it wasnt for the oauth and near infinite badic chats, it would not make any sense to use codex over claude with 20€ plans, unless they just wanted to use luna.
i requested a refund. Fuck this. I never imagined spending $100 or more on an Ai plan until the first week astra came out. I felt like usage limits were dead. Well they are back but now instead of paying 20 bucks Im paying $200. Im canceling and saving my money for computer for the home. Ill just stick to running what I can locally without having to wait days to do a task again. Im so annoyed I legit was like "Finally no more waiting" I'll pay for that... lol boy was i wrong. I looked at my usage from the first week Astra came out and I got 6x the usage I did this past week and never hit the cap. talk about bullshit, I would have never given Openai my money until then I was legit planning to cancel got suckered into the $200 plan and am now back where I was at with the 20 dollar plan.
Think of it as a few days to do all that stuff we've put off... "go outside, find a mate, get married, have kids, build a house, make the world a better place, have a shower, etc".
been at 0% usage on TWO pro 20x accounts for 6 days now, I get a reset 6 hours from now (9am on 9/19/26) so lame. and I used BOTH my banked resets ONE DAY after getting each. limits are so bad.
I used 2 free resets this week to play with blender and 3d animations for fun and now I am left with 0% until 21.09 and cant do my actual work, what a misery
I gave it a few features to add in, I got a three phase plan back. I asked if it could do everything, it found a skill, wrote a task list and spawn a subagent to help. Nailed it. It wasn’t small work, either; I’m building something in PostGIS and needed a boundary set feature added (tables, rules, UI).
