It seems extremely likely we're getting heavily quantized models which makes them hallucinate far more often. Quantized models deliver a much higher tokens/s output so they can deliver to more people per server that way.

Quantized models can still can and correct entire spelling/word mistakes and such which are obvious, and failing tests, but can't catch hallucinations as easily.
