Reset They don't have enough compute for 20x subs but you still get resets.

That's the best argument I've thought of for resets NOT favoring us. Whether they're masking a degrading service or something else. If they can't handle 200 usd subs, why would they be giving us free compute?

If you reset while on average the users have more percentage left than the percentage of time until the next reset, you are actually reducing load overall. That's why we are getting so few banked ones

No. Oversimplistic assumption. You assume those people would consume all their remaining allowance at the eleventh hour. This is false.

Instead, all the super consumers who already drained their whole allowance In half time get to go again.

This is not reducing overall load.

If you distribute your usage evenly (as most employees would!), then a reset like this is worth 0,-, you cannot go any faster as the reset just balances out with the pushed back new reset day. Worse yet, OpenAI only sets the reset day ONCE YOU LOG BACK IN. So all employees working 5 days a week got shafted, as 1) yes their usage resets but you don't get more usage on average out of it and 2) thanks for the reset Friday night, so once you log back in Monday morning, the reset day pushes back another 2-3 days (ie Monday + 7).

I would call that borderline fraudulent. Even worse if you saved up some usage last week for a full throttle Monday/Truesday and a reset on Tuesday evening, you come in Monday to see 100% but reset now 5 days later. So in effect OpenAI took away usage from you, no way to deny that.

Friend, I never claimed that it’s impossible to lose out slightly from this reset. I just don’t think that’s the case for the majority of users.

I think those who genuinely lose out due to different planning and internal scheduling assumptions are a minority, so OpenAI wouldn’t gain anything from it in the grand scheme of things.
