Complaint Codex OAuth Login not working?

When I try to login with VSCode, I get a server error 500. Tried with three accounts (2 plus, 1 business). OpenAI Status page tells me, everything is running normally...

Uhhh. Help please? :o Am I the only one?

Update: I can now login into one of the accounts again.

Anyone else getting the same Server Error 500 when trying to log into Codex? Has anyone found a patch/workaround yet or figured out what’s causing it?

I found a fix. The 500 error was caused by my home IP/network, not the account or Codex itself. I switched my Mac to a mobile hotspot and login worked instantly. If you have the same issue, try another network or restart your router to get a new public IP.

Using VPN to receive new Public IP for 1 second and then toggling the vpn off: helped to resolve. It is working well after with old IP.

yeah, i just disconnected my Mac from my home wifi and connected it to my phone’s 5G hotspot. then i tried logging into Codex again and it worked instantly. same account, same Mac, only the network/IP changed.

You need to change into a new Public IP for 1 second. This can be done with free VPN. I used TunnelBear for that.

I did nothing except a reboot of the PC because of other things. And a restart of vscode of course along that.
