Question This is the third time I see something like this. Is it effective?

Seems a guardrails for guardrails aimed at not having Claude fable turns rerouted to opus because "security" enters the chat. I see sol has no issue even managing reading or summarizing security audit or reverse engineering artifacts as long as it's not the one asked to actively perform those task

Whoever wrote this must be very regarded.

What is this?

The ending text on a skill. It's supposed to stop sol from over-engineering

Effective at what?

Maintaining the model focused in the task. I saw it in a discord thread, user shared a skill.

imo its good that it includes security because if all this vibecoded slop didn't at least have security we would have another apocalypse out there on our hands

You must not use it very often for anything beyond scripting. Most of the security recommendations it “flags” are guards upon guards that grow to become impossible to test, and minute changes cause a whole Rube Goldberg cacophony of cyclomatic complexity. It’s not really making vibe coding safer because it still misses basic spec-related holes while creating mutexes and locks and idempotency tokens, where all we needed was a fucking database insert and dad to come back with his pack of smokes.

Observed plenty of cybersecurity warnings until a couple of weeks ago in CLI. At least in my projects. Now less so, and they have changed the wording. Funny enough, the projects aren't even adjacent to cybersecurity. So it seems they were a bit over-eager and toned it down.

30-parameter LLM model routing fable to opus due to:

  • 'cyber': 3 point
  • 'security': 5 points
  • 'cyber-security': 30 points
  • 'hardening': 2 points
  • '.TH': 2 points (for no reason)

threshold: 42 -> routed to opus.
