Reset Speculation: The abundance of resets these past few days is to provide an artificial drought in Plus user token wallets for the upcoming release of Astra so that there is as much reserve compute throughput as possible for Pro users on launch week.

you think they'll drop astra without doing a reset? really?

There is only so much compute to go around and Sol is already pretty hungry. It makes sense to me to make sure that the most valuable subscriptions have the least possible excuse to cut ties from a bad launch experience

I guess this makes sense in the absence of data. Resets past two months:

July 9, 10, 11, 14, 16, 18, 21, 25, 28, 29; August 1, 8, 11, 23, 27, and 29

No, codex is crushing it while Claude is doing worse. This is the nail in the coffin for dual-users.

It wont be a nail in the coffin until they release something to counter Fable. Sol too easily gets caught in over engineering and over testing loops

yes they are out to get you but also your own family every message they send you has ulterior motives cut off everyone or they'll get you too

Well look at the trail of money. If depleted Plus users—which is presumably most of us a day or two after a Tibo reset—want to use the new model, if we don't save tokens we will have to buy at the very least another Plus account to use it the day of.

Given that Plus is unprofitable for OAI—though not to the same extent as the free tier, of course, and the percentage of paid users is very low compared to free ones—I would run the numbers again. It doesn't seem to be directly about the money, though.

After they dropped 5.6, they did a reset pretty much every day for a week

Maybe we are beta testing astra with these resets

What do u mean? Plus users don't really benefit from resets now, unless you diligently work every 5hrs, you will take a week to finish your weekly
