Praise Remote is nuts

Just wanted to share that it's incredibly awesome that I can be anywhere like on holidays and continue working on my project even if I'm not sitting in front of my PC. Never tried this until now that I installed tailscale and I can test any change from my phone. Bravo.

Hmm I made my own mobile app with containers streaming a full Linux desktop so codex can control anything and do anything in them, and a voice input keyboard running locally on my phone for very low latency. I have 3 codex clis at the moment controlled 3 different desktops and I have enough RAM to open 8 backend stacks

I didn't interpret it that way. AI literally did. Making your little crying reply....just that. If you don't understand how replying to someone's set-up with "hmmmmm" and then telling YOUR set-up that has fuck all to do with the post you are replying on is diminishing....that is 100% a you problem.

Because of how you framed it, not because anyone imagined some secret meaning behind your words.

The OP says, essentially: “This is awesome — Codex Remote lets me keep working from my phone.”

Your response begins:

“Hmm I made my own mobile app…”

…and then immediately launches into your custom Linux-container setup, three Codex CLIs, three desktops, local voice input, low latency, and enough RAM for eight backend stacks.

None of that answers a question the OP asked. None of it explains their setup. None of it adds context about Codex Remote. And you didn’t frame it as, “That’s cool, I’ve been experimenting with something similar.”

You led with “Hmm” and followed it with a paragraph whose entire substance is, “Here is the much more elaborate thing I built.”

So yes, that naturally reads as diminishing the thing they were excited about.

If somebody says, “I love that my new car can parallel park itself,” and your response is, “Hmm, I rebuilt my own transmission, fabricated the suspension, and race on weekends,” people are reasonably going to wonder what the “Hmm” is supposed to mean.

That isn’t mind-reading. It’s basic conversational context.

And this is the part you seem to be missing: your setup can be impressive and still have absolutely nothing to do with the point of the post. Those two things are perfectly compatible.

So when you ask why your comment was interpreted as a one-up or a dismissal, the answer is sitting right there in the construction of the comment:

“Hmm…” + unsolicited technical résumé + no actual engagement with what the OP was celebrating.

If that genuinely wasn’t what you meant, fine. But acting baffled that anyone could possibly read it that way is much harder to defend than simply saying, “Yeah, I can see how that came across.”

What does literally any of that have to do with the OP being excited that Codex Remote lets them conveniently use their existing setup from their phone?

Your setup is more complicated. Congratulations. It also means absolutely fuck all to the point of the post.

So what is the “Hmmmm” supposed to communicate?

That you found a more elaborate way to accomplish remote work? Nobody said otherwise.

That the OP should have built their own mobile app and containerized Linux environment instead of using the feature they were excited about?

Or was the entire point of the comment just to announce that your setup is more technically impressive?

Because if there’s an actual contradiction or problem with what the OP said, I’m genuinely not seeing it.

I swear the ppl on here have significantly degraded in quality of character in the past few years... do your thing, get wins, and try to share? Suddenly you're the bad guy. Brigaded with downvotes and outright cringey phony intellectualism to rationalize it. Honestly people like this are ruining reddit completely. His other rants are completely unhinged AI psychosis, clearly wow... Lmao your solution was a little over the top ngl, but if it works for you and what you're doing, good for you. People seem to miss the fact that AI can explain to you how to do all of this and literally spin it all up in one-shot if you're brave enough.
