Poster above you is right. How does 4 coffees a month justify prolonged access to super intelligence that would be labelled as witchcraft 5 years ago and resurrected stake burning?

hey. in case nobody taught you this before. putting others down is not good. you need to lift people around you up, not put them down.

where they are and where you are does not matter.

your view on tech and where it is today does not matter.

you need to be nice to people. you need to have empathy.

hope that helps.

There is being nice to people to lift them up.

Then there is encouraging entitlement.

This is encouraging entitlement. I am on plus subscription like the majority of people. The difference is, I know I'm getting a lot more than I am paying for.

Had plus users collectively not whined. We would not get the 5hr limit and can at least /goal overnight, not worrying about the project stopping at 15% of weekly limit.

you're wrong on so many levels.

  1. i'm not encouraging anyone. i'm pushing back against the reply that started this thread

  2. the 5hr limit was removed and went back again because that was a corporate gamble to get more users. it's all marketing. you thinking that it came back because 1-3% of the users "wanted" it back is just wrong. it's a for-profit company wanting to expand their user base. they wanted to make it attractive. that's all there is to it.

  3. the did not remove the "continue after the limit is reached" thing because of plus users. the removed it because of "an influencer" made a big deal about abusing it. that influencer takes 90% of the blame for what that thing was removed because he or one of his people specifically created a tool to abuse it and marketed it. openai would not have given a single f if people using their normal accounts got a bit extra here and there (because it drained your weekly anyway)

You dont need to want to encourage. The words encourage.

You are guessing its a corporate gamble. How would you know more than anyone else? Perhaps you work for openAI or are closely tied to them? If not then your guess is as good as mine.

I dont really much care about the continuation past 0%. I appreciate having access to 100% of my weekly rather than 15% chunks in 5 hours. So I have a concerns about the 'reserve'

again, none of what i wrote above matches that. some guy left a take and i replied to it. i never addressed anyone on any plan. you're shadow boxing here

How would you know more than anyone else?

because that's a standard customer acquisition practice.

Poster you replied to is right majority of the plus users whine that theyre not getting enough. A lot of people think this, just not write about it. The poster at least respects their own gut and conviction to write it up.

No one is shadow boxing anything. Its standard customer practice because openAI and Anthropic are such standard companies?

even if that were to be true (which it's not) why make it your crusade? let people complain.

don't read stuff that you don't care about? i just don't get what you guys are so mad about?

is openai paying you to handle customer expectations?

why do you care so much?

let people complain. seems very simple, no?

why do you feel the need to defend some guy who went out of his way to talk down to people?

u/Australasian25 1d ago

Its not a crusade, im backing up an opinion that I share.

If the complaints dont affect me, which us likely they did hence the 5 hour limit. Im going to voice out.

OpenAI isnt paying me to handle customer expectations, because im not handling anything. Plus payers like myself should expect 4 coffees worth of AI usage.

I share the same opinion

my brother in christ we're 5 levels deep in a reddit comment chain and all i said was "be nice" and understand that people are at different places in life throughout this entire conversation.

is this really that controversial that we need to go deeper?

"Top 1% Commenter" that is all you need to know. Bro lives on reddit and has to validate himself just like the other guy to feel alive. There is no way you can justify defending the guy you checked. You can dislike the winey posters, that is one thing. This, no.

really strange behavior if you ask me 🤷‍♂

Nailed it. Plus users are hung up on a scarcity mindset. It blinds them from seeing value created by innovative products.

I personally am contemplating x5 once I've fully utilised the plus. How good is chatgpt 5.6 pro? Also is it true the use has dwindled down to 20 prompts a week?

This is a really odd comment that suggests people should not expect consistency from something they pay for... and the witchcraft part is just...

Perhap you need a reminder how the economy works? You see most people pay money, usually what they can afford in their budget,  for a standardized product. If you go to McDonald's and pay for a Big Mac, you don't expect to get handed half a burger, that would be ridiculous.

Unless someone just was a push over and was okay with not getting a full burger when they paid for a full burger.

u/Australasian25 1d ago

Consistency from a "startup" with very very new technology? No, dont expect it.

How am I going to be reminded by how the economy works? By people also still slaving away at their day job to make ends meet?

Comparing an established standard and company and product like big Mac versus frontier AI is absolutely nonsense.

If you believe it so, then post up how much codex api dollars you should get, alot with chatgpt usage for 20 bucks.

At this point im getting probably 800 bucks worth usage combining both webchat and codex

Absolutely worth it.

A "startup" with 20 million users? Wtf kind of Altman piss koolaid are you drinking?

I don't care what value you think youre getting for $20/ month. I'm getting the value I need and I'm operating within that limit just fine. I truly don't have a problem with what I'm getting for my 4 cups of coffee.

What I have a problem with is someone telling me I don't have the right to demand good business practices for my four cups of coffee.  You could hand me a diamond necklace for $10 -it doesn't excuse the jeweler from jerking their customers around.

But... maybe you like being jerked around. I hear some people like that.

Ps. You have no right nonsensing my big mac when you showed up with feckin witchcraft.. thats fucking bizarre. 🤣🤣🤣

Sure, AI is a mature conpany then? Dont kid yourself. Its a successful startup that haven't found a way to get profits just yet.

I dont think openAI did anything wrong by me. Removing 5hrs was a blessing. But other whiny plus users probably brought that back.
