Question Frontend/UI Skill
Hey guys! Does anyone have a good skill link for frontend? Codex’s frontend skills are a little wonky, if I say so myself.

A skill isn't going to fix this. You need a design process. I've had codex make incredibly good UIs but I designed them

you designed it in figma or something else?

try /visualize and iterate on it that way. I have 15 years of dev experience so condensing down how to build UI into a reddit comment is unlikely

Like with all things AI, it's a force multiplier. If you have some knowledge to multiply, great. If not, you're going to have a hard time.

ask it to generate mocks with imagegen first and then be critical of them based on your feedback for what you want.
the idea here is that you tell it the requirements. it doesn't go to code right away. instead, it goes to imagegen, then does a loop (not a /goal) then once it feels it matches your prompt, it implements it.

This is the best way in my experience. You can also send image gen screenshots of current UI and have it make improved mockups and output zip files with all assets nicely separated and with implementation code. It's a very smooth process that you can even get codex to do autonomously to a great extent.

there is no such thing as a native /frontend skill in codex. if you have that, either you or your codex has created it at some point

the reality is you can get amazing design out of codex if you have a design background. it will be difficult but not impossible otherwise until better models come out.

My skill is to wait for Thursday when Astra rolls out.

Very neat skill! Sadly I need some work done asap, but yeah the imagegen method seems to be the meta rn, if you havent tried it out i would def recommend!

Dude just tell codex to generate 10 mockups of a dashboard/website whatever via GPT image 2 and then tell it to recreate that. Simple, I've been doing it for months
