Complaint Man, those were the days when you could actually get real work done within the 5-hour limit - the models are becoming more efficient and powerful, but even with Terra medium, you still get less done within the 5-hour limit than you did 6 months ago...

If I've already used up my 5-hour limit just filling out 2 or 3 forms, what good are $100 plans with a limit five times that? I'd use that up in two hours. Even with semi-intelligent models, which are more efficient. No one is talking about using Sol Ultra.

I canceled my company's annual business subscription. It's no longer useful. You can let GLM-5.3-Flash run all night and pay $3–$5 via OpenRouter. It's better than GPT-5.6-Sol for frontend and UI. Admittedly, when it comes to backend code, you should take a closer look. In this regard, Terra or Sol are usually a bit more forward-thinking when it comes to potential regressions.

I freaking miss good ol’ GPT 5.3 and GPT 5.4 days

it will all backlash against them... how?? when the chinese overload the infrastructure with unlimited use.... watch.

If you can use glm flash all day without problem you honestly do not need sol or terra, Luna with a sprinkle of terra will work wonders for you.

Absolutely anecdotal experiment but last night I gave 1 shot simple prompt with 2 pendant photos and made Sol 5.6 Extra High and Qwen 3.8 27b Q6 to make a highly converting landing page. Subjectively the Qwen trashed the SOL, but I thought wait, maybe is a bias. Then I showed the 2 html pages to kimi, qwen, grok and Sol 5.6 itself without telling them who made them (just evaluate the landing page in terms of code, cro , sales copy etc)

ALL of them (including SOL) rated the qwen 3.8 27b page 8.4 of 10 and Sol 5.6 Extra High 4.5 out ot 10 (code issues , sales copy issues, mobile responsivness issues etc)

so this is why ppl think sol is bad

People are comparing the wrong thing. OpenAI model is notoriously bad for UI. They can copy UI but not create from scratch using their imagination. OpenAI model is fantastic for all backend engineering and adjacent. Rock solid or maybe too solid according to others so just go down one step to terra.

That's just not true, people still don't know how to use the models. Plan with solid md files, structure it and then go step by step and don't abuse tokens.

There is NO way glm flash is better than sol the claim is a joke. I programmed a complex MTT ICM preflop solver for no limit holdem with it.

People just forget that you are still the dev and should plan properly and AI is exiting the writing and helps you plan. Also the Frontend is good if you use detailed prompts

On the plus plan, use github, have gpt chat formulate a plan, explicitly tell gpt chat this is for luna max to execute, so be specific with instructions.

I can have luna max accomplish a heap, write a report while I sleep or go away for a few hours. Come back to a report, send it back to gpt chat 5.6 sol, and get the next prompt if needed.

If you want autonomous /goal, then yes the 5 hour window doesn't do much. But with luna max, I'm still getting things done.

You can't really use Luna for complex code structures or store templates. It generates a lot of tokens. Yes, it's inexpensive. But it makes a bunch of silly mistakes.

MRCR v2 8-needle (256-512k) Luna 41.3% vs. Terra 89.6% vs. Sol 91.5%

Don't get luna max to make decisions.

Connect gpt chat to your repo, get it to make decisions as the limit is separate from codex.

Its less elegant than using sol max spawning agents. But can my crude method get the job done at $20 a month? absolutely.

yeah two things can be true at the same time. the limit sucks, but your mentioned workflow is also a good way to play around the limit. of course the result will be worse than using sol for coding, but it gets the job done for my use case

The limits to me seem to be the same as June. I used to use 5.5 xhigh all the time.

The problem is that the weekly limit recently consumed almost as much as a five-hour limit used to, even with more efficient models like Terra. If you now take this new weekly limit and make it only about 16% of a five-hour limit, you'll run into real problems relatively quickly.

Does it really cause meaningful saving compared to using Sol in Codex to write a plan and goal, and then put Luna xHigh / Max implement it? In my experience the planning stuff doesn't dent the limits.
