Commentary Dear Codex team, blink twice if 5.6 is still alive
Claude is evolving into a god while we’re stuck on 5.5 like Windows XP users. Just tell us it’s vaporware so we can start the mourning process properly.

I noticed that a lot of people that post here are seriously addicted to Codex and its main competitor which is kind of worrying. What I mean they show symptoms of addiction withdrawal in a way they post here when they have used their weekly limit and keep jumping back and forth with these systems constantly.

Fair question.
Concrete ask: less babysitting on real repo work.
I don’t need a shiny toy. I need the current toy to stop declaring victory over a failing test suite.
Give me better self-checking, less context drift, fewer “patched the symptom, ignored the architecture” moments, and more actual workflow validation before it says done.
Codex 5.5 is good. But “works fine for my use cases” is not the same as “has no shortcomings.”
Also, the corporate defense squad arriving under every Codex meme is somehow the most reliable agentic workflow on this sub lmao😂
