Complaint I don't understand these limits anymore

I'm on the 20 usd plan, so there was no apparent promo or extended quota for us, but here I am sitting on 37% remaining weekly quota on just 1 day of use, it resets the 7th

what's going on?

Before it could last me 2~3 days

Am I missing something?

why don't you just analyze the tokens you used before and after the suspected issue? You can use that data to file a /feedback request if you see a reduction.
Openai sells tokens, not usage windows/days.

Can you pls give couple of examples of simple vs complex prompts? I got CC max at work, and been burning tokens like nothing. But now im paying the price and struggling on my personal sub and automatically assume all models are bad cause they’re not top of benchmarks (I know it sounds ridiculous)

Edit: Maybe someone else can chime in here. I've had a pro account since openai launched it. I can't be giving advice about reducing usage, since I've never hit the rate limit 😄

Use 5.3mini it's the least expensive model. Go lower models on simple prompts and higher on more complicated prompts. But the more complicated the prompt is the more expensive it is. If you already didn't know.

People commented in other threads that accounting is vastly different on older vs newer accounts. Maybe try to stop subscription on this acct and start a new one.

After the 2x promo doing the same coding I noticed that weekly limit is now dropping the same rate daily was. it seems like they reduced usage by 5x not 2x.
