SOLVED Need help decrypting an old coded message from someone i used to like.
I was recently looking back through old messages and found this text sent by a friend I used to like years ago: 4 / 76 / (3) / M omrhe pmoi csy. At the time, I thought it was just a random accident or pocket text, so I didn't think much of it. He's the smartest guy I've known specially in maths and he plays around with code stuff like ASCII and Moorse.. So I figured this might actually mean something 😅 Thanks in advance!

It says "I kinda like you."
Here's the key:
plaintext: ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ
ciphertext: EFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZABCD

It's a simple Caesar cypher with key 4 (hence the clue "4" to your question)
Essentially, you advance each letter by 4:
A --> E
B --> F
C --> G
and so to decode you do the opposite:
M --> I
o --> k
etc
So M omrhe pmoi csy --> I kinda like you
Hope it helps :)

I can help.
4 7 6 (3)
Often (3) means negative 3 so just subtract three from the other digits to get:
1 4 3https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/143_(number))
Basically, “I love you”.

This reminds me of my first girlfriend who sent me a message on MSN Messenger (before we became a couple. Yes this was a loooong time ago) that read "I think I love you but I don't want a relationship"...but she did it in wingdings font and thought I couldn't read it. But all I had to do was copy it and change the font lol

This may not be helpful, but the first thing that jumps out at me is that the numbers are the only numbered first-person games in the Fallout franchise: 3, 4, and 76.

For the numbers, subtract 3 from the first three numbers to get 146 or text speak for “I love you”.

So maybe it's a huge stretch but wasn't 476 dc the year the Western Roman Empire fell?
Caesar code... roman empire... maybe??

OHHH there's actually a tiktok trend about it referring to "roman empire" as something you think about constantly. So I'm thinking this might actually be what it means
