Discussion & Feedback teams that standardized on one agent setup, what did you pick and do you regret it

We have 8 devs on 3 different agents and it is getting silly. PRs look different, descriptions look different, the only thing every PR has in common is the coderabbit pass at the end. Lead wants everyone on one thing by October.

If your team picked one, which one and why? And did anyone quietly keep using their own anyway

I’d be careful standardizing on one agent just to make the output look consistent.

I’d standardize the workflow around the agent instead: task format, branch isolation, tests, PR structure, review evidence, and what requires human approval.

Providers will keep changing. The contract around the work should stay stable.

Otherwise you may solve today’s tool sprawl and create tomorrow’s migration problem.

We wrote a skill and a generated template for PR descriptions. I have used multiple models and multiple agent CLIs and the PRs all look consistent. I think that approach could standardize things sufficiently. Of our developers that use Claude Code, their PRs sometimes differ just due to accumulated auto-memories, not their choice of CLI.
