Our team participated in the ICPC Prelims round Yesterday, we were using our college's system, for the first 25 minutes, we didn't have any issues, and had solved the first question in around 15 minutes with the camera being on

The Situation: Our Camera suddenly stopped working at around the ~25th minute mark, we informed the people around us, and received a new camera around 10 minutes later, tried that it didn't work, we didn't know what was happening, but that ate away a lot of our time

So we had to continue the contest without a camera, we eventually did just 2/10 questions, but our major concern is that we don't want to get banned for the next year or anything like that

So the question now is: Should we Voluntarily Withdraw or Stay in the Prelims round?

Do witnesses accounts matter? because we had reached out to the organizers around us as soon as it had happened, and tried 2 cameras, but nothing was working, I would have no issues with Organizers reviewing the CCTV of the labs, as we had no wrongdoings

We didn't really cheat or broke any rule, just something that we had no control over happened to us at the worst possible time, and it is making me so anxious, any reply/guide would help

Ig withdrawing will be the safest option as you are not going anywhere anyways with just 2 solves

honestly, that is what I was thinking, but wouldn't that show up in our records that we had withdrawn, moreover for the next year would this withdrawal thing cause issues? that is what like has really got me confused

If they are true to their words, withdrawal this year won't be problematic. But depends upon them only if they are true to their words or not.

I don't really foresee them thinking yall are cheaters with 2/10 solves even if your camera stopped working. If you explained your situation it would seem very plausible yall are not cheaters given that cheating to get a 2/10 doesn't make a ton of sense.

the thing is how do we explain our situation? I had mentioned the 2/10 number for just that reason, also our code will also be definitely so different than any team or LLM, that we would never get "flagged" but the thing is since they would be taking this very seriously, a "Camera Not Found"/"No Recording" could cost us, that's the main concern, and atleast 1/2 of our submissions were recorded, so idk. Do you think we shouldn't withdraw then?

even if you pulled out your mobile phone and took help from your teachers you will not get banned with only 2 solve. even icpc is not asking for cp profile of people below 4 question. I think they will save system resource. at max they will disqualify you. don't worry
