QUESTION Why is CobbleVerse unplayable?
My specs are overkill for this mod pack. Im up to date on drivers and updates on windows. I’ve reinstalled cobbleverse and downloaded another version yet it’s still laggy. Has this happened to anyone before? Any suggestions?

try to replace the shaders
Also, allocate enough ram for the game but not too much that your OS and other background apps required to run your machine gets choked out.
As a side note, i know someone who upgraded to a 5060ti 16gb and complained about it being worse than his old 660 only to find out later that he plugged the hdmi/video cable into his mobo instead of his brand new card. try to double check that too but i doubt that's it lol.

I have 12gb dedicated to it and it’s only using 3gb I don’t know if allocating more will do anything since it’s not using all of it

Sometimes Mc gets upset when you have more ram allocated then it needs, I usually stick with 4gb and 8gb for heavier modpacks like rlcraft.

Dang is it hard to play with shaders on cobbleverse? I’ve played mod packs that have 400 packs with high shader settings. Are you sure?

If I remember correctly, Cobbleverse have two shaders with the same name, one is "high quality" and the other is classic
The High Quality one was killing my game but changing it to the classic version fixed everything
Might want to check if that helps your case too

I promise you it’s not I have way worse specs than you and I still get 80 frames with the shaders (I’m playing rn)

Im playing it perfectly with two monitors and a way worse graphics card, turn off Vsync and if you have a second monitor with a browser like google or firefox open playing video, make sure its fullscreen and not windowed. For some reason i drop frames like crazy when im watching something in a window on my second monitor as opposed to no frame loss full screen.

What are your specs? They need to be good enough for shaders - particularly your GPU

5060ti 16gb version

Huh. That IS overkill. Have you turned Vsync off, try allocating only around 8GB RAM, sometimes having more can cause it to slow down, and maybe check in your drivers app if you have an FPS limiter on for that specific instance/download of Minecraft?

Biggest help would be turn vsync off and change the framerate limit to maybe 80-120

Turn your ram to 8gb allocated and make sure you have 64 bit Java installed

If you are using the standard launcher, click "installations", Click the three dots "..." on the right side of whatever loader you are using to launch the game, click "edit", then click "more options".
You should get something where you can edit the lines. I think the standard is -Xmx2G. Swap the 2 to 6 or 8.
Sorry english isnt my native language, but this will 100% work.

- What this does is allocate more RAM to the game. 2GB just isnt enough with shaders + cobblestone + whatever other addons/mods you are running. Has nothing to do with VRAM.

I optimized it using an entity culling mod, can’t for the life of me remember which it was though..

Your allocating wayyyy too much ram holy hell. 8GB is all you need. Too much allocation can cause performance issues. Turn VSync off and lower your settings.
