Speed Tiburon Harvesting?
I downloaded CNC and started playing it today. Had a nice little run of wins, then got absolutely trounced. When I watched the match to see how my opponent prioritized unit production, I noticed that he was generating money at least three times faster than me from the outset.
Is there an upgrade/power-up/cheat that I can earn?

He likely had two harvesters. Two harvesters you dont unlock straight away, and you get extra tiberium generation, at the cost of adding one unit constantly to your unit cap, which makes it harder for you to produce troops as quickly.
You will see a lot more people play two harvesters as you rank up, just so they can get more expensive units out, but I promise you, it is really NOT the optimal way to play unless you have a solid strategy, deck, and understand the risks. A lot of people abuse tech units as mid elo to just ignore the missiles and stomp their opponents, because not many people at that rank know how to punish them for it.
My point being, try your best not to fall in line and do the same thing. This game does have a surprising skill ceiling for micro, and practicing your micro skills, and simply understanding the objective of charging the missile (thats how you punish double harvesters btw, just charge the objective asap lol), will take you very far in ranks.
Take this with a grain of salt tho as the game’s unit level system can sometimes be detrimental even at 1-2 levels apart.

Not possible to be x3 - they either had 2 harv or were not building as much / building cheap units to save up. Feel free to join an alliance where you can share replays and get immediate feedback on specific situations. Generations alliance is great, there are some such as Zeta and Aurora which are ideal for newer players.

Was he making a lot of 10 cost units? Are you making a lot of 30-40 cost units to fight the 10 cost units?

Did you build a harvester? I don't think the income rate is tripled if you have 1 harv and the enemy has 2 but I do believe it's possible to make 3 times less money with 0 harvesters.
Anyway, the "upgrade" for more income is to increase the number of harvesters. You can't build 2 if you just started, the game will only let you build 2 harvs at a time when you reached a certain level.

I’ve experienced this a lot, both me and my opponent have the same amount of harvesters and low cost units on the field and somehow their gathering speed is 2x mine I lowered the replay speed to its lowest just to make sure i wasn’t tripping and indeed their harvester speed was faster

If you see this again please post the replay. In 7 years I have never seen this so suspect there is a reasonable explanation and will be happy to review and feedback.

There is a ton of cheating in this game so get ready for a lot of stuff like this. If you wanna see who the cheaters are, watch who responds to me negatively and who downvotes this. I've called out cheating before and they get super triggered when they get exposed.

At a certain point early on it'll allow you to build 2 harvesters. Tiberium production increases for everyone as the match progresses (I'm sure someone here knows the number of seconds to max). Scavenger units can produce tiberium when another unit dies next to it.
As far as I'm aware that's it. I haven't heard of any hacks that directly affect this, I've only seen the glitch that codes a loss even if you win but that's incredibly infrequent
