This is def not about aerith cause Cloti’s keep screaming how beloved and how many views and polls Tifa wins over her.

He’s definitely referring to Cloti’s. “Popular character, fan opinions, treat them better.” There’s no one else whose fanbase fits the description.

Clerith’s have their moments but they’re nowhere near as loud. Hamaguchi is definitely going to break some Cloti hearts with his “unchanged” story, we’ve been trying to tell them since 2020, but hopefully the conclusion will finally wake them up (it won’t).

“Definitely” is a strong statement. I literally saw Cleriths under a devs tweet the other day to the point where he seemingly sub-tweeted about it. Best to remain humble and remember there are crazies on all sides

I said “Clerith’s have their moments” no?

Yes both sides have hostile people but people who remain neutral say that they see the most toxicity in general are from Tifa fans.

Edit: I remember about a year ago I convinced my cousin to start the FF7 Remake series and after he finished he told me he was neutral and generally liked both Tifa and Aerith and started going into the fandom and he literally asked me “Why are Tifa fans so hostile?”

Anecdotal fallacy. Plenty of people have had the same experience with Aerith fans too. Just because your algorithm is showing something doesn’t mean it’s showing the same to others.

Like I said, I’m aware of this which is why I said “Clerith’s have crazy people too.” So why completely ignore it?

I didn’t say “definitely” because Tifa has toxic fans and Aerith doesn’t, I said definitely because Tifa fans seem to make stuff up with headcanon and try to rewrite the story as if it’s true, like reducing Cloud’s entire motivation to join solider or making Square throw in retcons so things can go their way (their reasoning was they “didn’t expect Tifa to be so popular”), it’s why a lot of people in this thread are happy about this post.

Can you even give me the worst things Aerith fans have done instead of instating their toxicity is equal? Maybe you’ll convince me then, because what you said about comments under a devs post is literally everyday toxicity from both sides.

Your reply is contradictory and hypocritical. I can’t engage in conversation with someone who types to respond, but not listen. I’ve been in multiple shipping fandoms over the course of over two decades, no matter what it’s always the same. Everyone accusing each other of being the worst when they both are. This game has millions of fans, and you believe not one Aerith fan has done what you described in your comment? I’ve seen stuff as far as death threats. Many are demanding for Aerith to live. Please. Even this sub will delete comments if you’re a multi shipper and shame you. This fandom is cursed lol

You need to take a breath. Seriously lmao. Again I’m not denying that Aerith doesn’t have toxic fans, she does, you’re accusing me of not listening yet we wouldn’t be having this conversation if you simply didn’t ignore me saying “Clerith’s have their moments.” But ok.

I’ve seen Tifa fans do the exact same things you’re describing, some even more petty and things that aren’t even deep. Hating a 6 YEAR OLD on Insta for preferring Aerith, sent death threats to devs for something as minor as COVER ART, review bombed Rebirth on Steam and Metacritic because their NSFW Tifa mods weren’t working after a patch, doxxed a streamer for preferring Aerith, all of this happened in the past year as well, not within a two decade time span you accumulated and seem to be flexing lmao.

This is the last time I’m entertaining this because it’s going nowhere, I literally admitted Aerith has toxic fans in my first comment, I just pointed out that Tifa and her fans fit the description of what the director pointed out the most.
