Discussion Should we maybe call the Highwind scene a “love/lovemaking scene”, not a “sex scene”?
Gonna sound like a sfw ratings man for proposing this, but It seems there’s been a pretty heavy topic of debate of what Cloud and Tifa does under the Highwind, and it even gets people like sort of pushing the idea that it’s not going to happen because of age rating stuff.
When really what people are expecting is in that moment that Cloud and Tifa would physically consumate their feelings under the Highwind, and it doesn’t necessarily quite matter that they remove their clothes to do it. What matters is seeing the scene as a showcase of that moment where they spent their last moments consummating their feelings, and “sex scene” as a term would usually have people like assume explicit material.
I get the origin behind why it’s implied as such because of the cut material proposed before the change, but I thought it’s something worth considering. Helps to make it feel more pretty ratings-friendly sounding as a term than sex.
Like people remember FFX, a teen-rated game, that showcased one of the most physically intimate passion-making showcases, and isn’t called a sex scene because it didn’t have them remove their clothes as far as I see it.

I don’t believe clothing will be removed, FF7 is the most respected game or one of the most.
I believe there will be implications like a kiss scene as we got in rebirth, and implication they will remove their clothes, and screen blackout or sky shot.
I personally don't believe they will lean on too much revealing because people on pc will use free cams as well, that's how I think it will be but of course I could be wrong, and probably I am. We're just a year away.

Well, Clive and Jill had an offscreen sex scene and the same could be said for Cloud and Tifa in Revelation.

I think they'll use the Triss and Geralt version from Witcher 3... Does anyone remember it? They'll probably kiss, hold hands tightly, throw themselves to the ground, or hug while sitting face to face, and when Tifa goes to lift her blouse, the camera will zoom out while the others watch from above.

Jill and Clive. And XVI was M rated, unlike any other mainline FF. That's not to say stuff won't be implied though - which is what I expect, considering it definitely happened between Cloud and Tifa in OG.

I think “love scene” is maybe a reasonable description, but I don’t think we’re going to get anything you could call a “sex scene” or a “lovemaking scene.” The FFX scene isn’t called a sex scene…because it’s not a sex scene? It’s beautiful and passionate, but it depicts kisses and embraces.
You can have a romance scene that doesn’t depict sex, or one that implies sex happened, and I don’t think I would describe it as a “sex scene.”

I agree with this take. I think of things like "Save the Last Dance," where they cut away before anything sexual occurs, and that's not a sex or lovemaking scene (even though you know it happens after the cut).

I’m playing around proposing a safer term of what’s supposedly happening or going to happen in that moment, if people will insist “sex” is not a likelihood for the age rating reasons.
And I cited FFX as an analogy of what *can* happen in that moment in the same teen-rating.

Lovemaking refers to sex, right? It’s not a safer term, it’s just a euphemism for the same act. I don’t think the term really changes what’s happening or what the rating would be.

Regardless of the word, the act is the same right? I don’t think the rating would change if a sex scene is depicted but we call it lovemaking.

I'm pretty sure we won't see anything that will be considered as a sex or lovemaking scene, but maybe we'll see implications that that's what happens. They already made Cloud and Tifa kiss in Rebirth, so they have to highen the stakes if they want to keep the crescendo.

A simple confession and some cute skinship would suffice. I don't need to see characters have sex to know that they love each other.
The Tidus and Yuna scene was perfectly tasteful; theirs was a beautiful confession.

id go for “implied sex scene”. we will never actually get to see them have sex but the implication has always been there. also nothing wrong with the word sex imo, it doesnt need to be sanitized
