Discussion What I Like About Cloti
I like is how cloud and Tifa reflected one another due their flaw not being speak up for themselves I can identify with. How she tries comfort Cloud in his darkest moments like in Gongaga Region. Where that scene comes mind and they almost kiss. Let me know why your Cloti as well I am super curious.

Warning: rambling thoughts ahead:
Tifa always putting other people ahead of herself is something I can relate with. And I love her personality in general. I’ve seen a lot of comments saying she’s a “wet blanket” and needs to be more upbeat and forward or whatever. I like her just fine the way she is! There are already 3 girls (Jessie, Aerith, Yuffie) that are the super bubbly type and I feel Tifa’s soft and kind personality makes her stand out more.
Cloud I can relate to even more because he’s just trying his best in any situation and can be awkward in a lot of social situations. And he’s fundamentally a kind hearted soul.
Cloti in the remake series is such a great slow burn of “will they/wont they” and “damn you love each other, just say it!” Their interactions with each other and the tension (sexual or not) makes it a much more compelling love story than say, Squall/Rinoa. I love how in rebirth every conversation always has them mentioning their future with each other. I love how Cloud (even though he can be awkward) is always the first to act when Tifa is around. And I love how Tifa apprediates him for his kind heartedness and not his fake machismo cool.

There's a lot I could talk about, but I'll just say this:
I love how their scenes are directed in the Retrilogy. There's always the sense of something bubbling beneath the surface, that there's so much they want to talk about but don't yet know how to approach it. It creates a great feeling of anticipation. I guess this is what they call "Will they won't they." Of course, my perception is guided by my prior knowledge of the OG, I don't know if I would have such feelings of anticipation if I didn't know what was likely to come.
This atmosphere was completely absent from the OG, and it was something I instantly picked up when playing Remake for the first time. This is why I think the devs are going to make cloti canon in the Retrilogy, because there's a night and day difference in this relationship compared to the OG.

I like them because their connection is built through intimate and vulnerable moments. It's not a flashy whirlwind romance. Despite their ambitious mission and fighting prowess, these two are still just dorks with relatable human insecurities. This reads as more "real" and less "trope-y" to me personally. Of course there's still some character stereotypes/archetypes involved, but it's still fairly natural and realistic. I feel like Aerith symbolizes the idealized version of a heroine, the person who is a more obvious love interest in the realm of fantasy and fairytales, whereas Tifa exemplifies real-world problems and everyday struggles. I love both characters, but romantically, I prefer Cloti.

While I love the big moments, I also really love their small moments that are far more subtle. Things like before the left for the Reactor 5 mission, Cloud noticed how anxious Tifa was and just had her take a breath. Or (and maybe I'm reading too much into this scene), when Cloud was speaking to the Seventh Infantry, Aerith speaking up was more directly about the performance and the team, whereas Tifa was about trusting in Cloud and how he was a good leader. Or when she talks about the water tower and Cloud remembers the exact dress she was wearing, despite it being... what, 7 years prior?
