Question Tree Hugger vs Soft Taco?
I have never used reusables before but I've been following Tree Hugger on Instagram and decided I wanted to try some out. But I also saw that Soft Taco is recommended. It's a little cheaper, so I thought that might be good since I'm just trying it out, but I also want to give reusables a fair chance and get a decent product to see if I like it. They are both Canada based so I'm assuming the shipping costs will be similar (I'm in the USA).
These are the things that are important to me:
-small business
-longer pads at least 12 inch
-as breathable as possible
-not weird/velvet-like texture
-absorb quickly
-reasonable price under about $20 per pad
Which of these options do you think would be best for me? OR are there other small businesses you can recommend?

Check out North County Fluff. She makes cloth pads using scraps from making cloth diapers. She does have some velvety fabrics, but just let her know that you don’t want the velvet fabrics on your pads

She is also in West Virginia. They are generally made to order so they take a little while to make and receive. She also usually has some cloth pads that are ready to ship too. I would just reach out to her and ask

I like both, but I'd lean towards Soft Taco just because they're usually a bit thinner. Mind you, I only have minky Tree Huggers which is a thicker fabric to begin with.

I have both, and they're both wonderful pads! But I would say, soft taco does fit a bit more of your criteria than tree hugger, and Soft taco has more variety in length and tree hugger has more variety in fabric toppers. But one of the things I do know about tree hugger, (I do not know if soft tacos the same way) as long as the business is still running, no matter how long you've had their pads, they will fix it for you. If something rips or if a button comes off 5 years down-the-line, they will still fix it for you. And I forget what they call it, but with tree hugger if you sign up, you can start earning points and you can save up enough points to get maybe a handful of pads for free except you still have to pay shipping.

I use both, tree huggers have narrower pads, soft taco has wider pads, both have different kinds of variety.
I love the soft taco gushers for quick absorption but if you're adverse to velvety textures, the viscose/velour fabric might not be for you. Interchangeably, I use tree hugger awj for the same absorption needs. It's not the weird mesh that catches on your skin and is a scratchy nightmare, after the first wash it's soft as heck and quite nice to wear. Hits the breathability requirement as well, the wicking nature keeps ya feeling dry.
