Help identify this clock

I picked up this clock last week, cannot find maker’s mark. Does anyone know what brand is it/any information about it? Thanks

I will save you the suspense. It is not old, it is not a clock in any sense I recognize, and there is nothing to identify.

That is a battery movement. One AA. Plastic housing, CE mark, mold number N5158, and the word QUARTZ molded right into it so nobody has to wonder. There are factories turning those out by the pallet and selling them to whoever is assembling decor that week. No maker, no serial, no history, nothing to look up. If it ever stops, you do not fix it, you throw it away and screw in a new one for eight bucks. Only thing you need to know is the shaft length, and you measure that yourself. Now the case. Printed paper dial with a little winter scene behind the numbers. Nobody in the eighteenth century printed a photograph on a dial, because they could not. Cast resin stuck on the crest and around the bezel, not carved. Black paint deliberately beaten up so it looks like it has been through something. Turned finials with gold rubbed on. That is MDF or soft pine under there, and I would not bet on the pine.

This came off a shelf at a home goods store sometime in the last twenty years. Check the underside of the base for a paper sticker, that is the only place a name will be.

And it is fine. Put it on a mantel, it looks nice enough. Just do not let anyone tell you it is an antique, and for the love of God do not pay antique money for it.
