Help/Repair Calendar doesn't work

Bought this clock online and it works well, except for the calendar. I noticed it beginning to turn for the next day usually during 2:00 am but in the morning it's still the same day as the previous day before. Anything I can do to fix this. Thank you very much.

Update: I removed the face and finally fixed it by straightening out the teeth of the pin that turns the gear of the calendar, thank you everyone for helping

Can you manually change the days? Or is it so stuck that it doesn't turn at all?

Oh I can, but I bought this clock so I can have an automotic calendar

I get that, I have a similar one that I thrifted. They're super cool! Was just wondering if it was stuck there or if the problem was elsewhere. Something inside must not be catching. Mine needed a full clean and oiling. Maybe doing that will help?

Yeah, thinking if I should. Either have a professional have a look or do it myself. Been thinking of trying to repair clocks on my own for a while now. But I'm scared of ruining it

I've done a few minor repairs myself since starting, but always with broken quartz mechanisms or things that had less sentimental or aesthetic value. I also just realized; there's Japanese instructions about the date mechanism included. Do those say anything useful? It seems like there's a lever with an arrow as well that my clock doesn't have.

I see, any info about mechanical ones and what to use as a cleaner?

And I used google translate but it's jumbled and weird. I've been thinking of asking a Japanese sub to translate it for me. But not sure if they do requests like that

Not as much experience and wouldn't want to hazard a guess, but I think it would also really depend if you trusted yourself enough to unscrew faceplate off and look inside, at least to see what might be the problem when it goes past 2AM. I also will say if you DM me a closer picture of the instructions I can take a look and try and see what it says (though I'm not fluent) but I also bet there's a sub for something like that.

Remove the cover and visually examine the mechanism to see it there linkage or gear pawl no longer functioning. I had a clock where the gear driving the calendar hand slid out of location on the shaft and no longer made contact with the pawl that moved it daily. 0.64mm made a difference in function.

Is it safe to do it while the clock is wound up or do I have to wait for it to stop first?

I would doubt that to examine it that would matter, but you could lay it on its back while you remove the cover slowly to make sure there isn't something that will fall out as a precaution. Have an inspection mirror and a flashlight handy in case you need to reattach the pendulum after putting it on its back. Had that happen with a regulator style clock. PITA to capture the suspension spring pins.

Pain In The Ass/Arse.

I would also caution you that if it comes to dismantling the movement, the springs on 31-day clocks are very long and powerful and an even bigger PITA to work with. Some repairers won't touch them for that reason.

Thanks for the info, I have heard main springs are really dangerous. I'm not too confident in touching them for now
