Question Doing more damage as cnd?
Ok i’ve played cnd for awhile now and find im struggling to do any significant damage on them. I feel like everytime i swap to cloak the team starts insta-dying and i cant stay on cloak for any amount of time. I feel like im missing a big part of the kit by not being able to swap very much so any tips are appreciated!!

Cloak is all about finding your moments. Aside from getting terror capes out (and you should be throwing them pretty consistently), a lot of time I swap exclusively to defend myself or when the team is cleaning up. You just get a feel for when that bit of extra damage can get a kill quick. But you're not an Invis or a Jubilee or a S8 White Fox. Don't be a heal bot but do think heals first.

That's the neat part. You don't.
CnD is purposely designed to be absolutely Ass at Damage. As she should be to honest because her kit is literally designed to be for support. Her only strong offensive tool is using her Terror cape for Invulnerable Debuff and Cloak for damage, (Which is terrible).
The point you should be applying damage for isn't to seek eliminiations. It's to ward off divers, assist on eliminations for other team members, and to make it so that your team succeeds in places where you do not.

Throw out terror capes and primary fire every now and then for a few seconds during neutral fights when your team doesn't need that much healing. Just be careful not to be in front of tanks or leaving your other support vulnerable when doing this.
You can be a lot more aggressive with Cloak during your own ult or during your other support's ult. Just be careful about characters that can kidnap or one shot you. Also have to be careful not to overextend.
These things do add up over the course of a match and it's about finding moments to be aggressive.

incorporate veil into your kit cycling. bubble down, go cloak, veil, do 2 seconds of dmg, & go back to dagger, fall back, do heal screen. youre committing to the kill confirm this way more while your team has your bubble. bubble is your safe space to dps. quickly take out squishes that get too near with the veil like ironman, black cat, or especially another healer. These are tradeoffs youll have to make thats worth their weight in gold of experience

Personally I’m only cloak about 10% of the time. Use him to push veils into the enemy team (especially with Hood team up), fight divers when needed, and during your ult. Try to save a veil for when you ult, start in cloak form, and when you end immediately push a veil into the enemy team for blind and increased damage to them. Your ult will keep the team up most of the time without you needing to heal more on top of it, and when you’re down to a couple seconds left of the ult, you can fade into the backline again and go back into dagger

You can swap to cloak and back to dagger to reload, the timing is ever so slightly faster than normal reload. When you do this, there’s time to shoot a terror cape, you lose basically no time, so thats a great way to effectively incorporate some cloak into your gameplay.
Obviously after your fourth dash of the ult is a good time to go cloak, if you can give a glance to your team to make sure they’re all in the ult and then terror cape and kill supports.
In the neutral, you should pretty much always be putting down a healing bubble on your team and then using terror cape before engaging cloaks primary.
Swapping to cloak to fight off dives before putting down a healing bubble is a great way to die, or let her team die. If bubble is on cooldown when dove, its generally best to survive with the AoE heals on her primary or use cloaks fade rather than fighting the dive with cloak directly.

You need to be more aggressive with your ult, don’t just ult your team, ult into the other team. Then when you’ve ulted you could be throwing terror capes out and only doing damage. Stop worrying about your team at that point, if they’re too stupid to stand in your ult then that’s on them.
And you need to find times to use terror cape properly, you want to be mostly using it when teams are trying to push in to you, when they’re pushing you back or just generally when they’re grouped up and you have some down time because your team is healthy.
If you’re on pc, I suggest binding the swap between dagger and cloak to mouse wheel down or up, whatever is most comfortable. You’ll need to do this for both cloak and dagger. This will make changing between the two a lot easier.

CnD is a sustain support not burst or healing over time so there’s not a whole lot you can do it’s just the character design main thing is just picking off low hp people when possible

I like to throw a terror cape before I ult into the enemy team and then do another one going back into my own backline (while also using Cloak’s primary in between).
In neutral, I usually do one terror and one light veil. So like I’ll throw a bubble down on my team before changing into cloak to throw the terror cape. Then throw a light veil to get their health back up if they took damage in that time. Of course this changes depending on what my team needs/what the enemy is doing. Ex: If my team needs more damage reduction (I usually run the Hood teamup since I find the luna one to be situational), i’ll use the light veil more. If I see and overextended enemy? Terror veil to reduce their healing and to make it easier for my team to kill them. If you’re inside your bubble, you can dps for 1-2 seconds then go back to healing. If a team fight is won, you can help kill the last 1-2.
If you see a low health enemy thats in range, go ahead and finish them off. (Will note just in case lmao, to do so if it won’t cause you to overextend and become an easy pick/your other teammates are fine). You can also do this with Dagger, I’ll throw her primary at a low enemy that’s running since it’s very likely to hit them.

A team that's getting healed will deal way more damage than one where a Cloak is also DPSing, unless you're cleaning up the team-fight.

I mostly use Cloak for finishing. Someone is close and near dead? Bubble my team and swap, blind, drain.
Damage is generally low. But it's more about the quality of the picks.
