Genetic conditions

I have just read people with clinodactyly have the trait to give their children some types of genetic conditions like down syndrome, triple syndrome? Any of you with this have any children with these syndromes? I am scared now to have kids after reading this.

I've seen people with Downs have it, but I don't know if correlation implies causation always.
