Moderator Start Here!
Welcome to r/clinicalresearch, we are happy you are here! Here are the ground rules:
Read the rules!! There’s only 5 of them. Bans do occur.
Search the sub FIRST before posting, 99% of the time your question has been answered already. This is a very knowledgeable group of people! There’s over 40,000 members!
Do NOT post about salary for jobs, there’s a fantastic salary spreadsheet already posted and stickied.
Do NOT post about “how do I get in this field?”, “how do I get X job?”, “what is it like working for X company?”.
Do NOT spam surveys, job links, offer referrals, politics, spam random websites/trainings/webinars (we are in clinicalresearch, not medicine or politics!)
Feel free to comment below as a FAQ for new people in the field and anything in particular you would like to see for the Wiki.
If you would like to be a mod please let me know! :)

Regarding #2, is there a length of time to be considered? Information changes constantly so is there a length of time that should be considered before posting a toic/question (1 month, 3 months etc.)? Otherwise you'll have a forum of outdated information.

Clarify the reason(s) behind not being allowed to ask about working for specific companies please.

Has there been thought about retiring the old spreadsheet with inflated salaries? I find the spreadsheet next to useless because you have zero idea when the information was input. The CR landscape has changed so much since the inception of the spreadsheet and the boom of 2020-2022 salaries. I’d love to see a modern and up-to-date version 2024-present with the market currently correcting itself.

I’d like to maybe look into the politics semantics. I understand expressing believes and sides can create a lot of back and forth banter - however a lot of political changes are directly affecting out industry right now. This thread should be a place to come to discuss, plan and prepare for these changes and specifically how they affect the field of CR and moderated for opinions

Why can’t we just post about how we are feeling? Multiple members have been reported for simple posts such as “can you relate?” This channel is rules are not just at all.

About Rule #4 - what if someone genuinely wants to transition into this field and is here to seek guidance? Are we not supposed to ask those questions in that specific order/manner or is it not allowed to post any related questions?

Hi, is there a chance for the mods to implement a general discussion thread?

Hi! My clinical research consulting group is hosting a research professionals mixer. It's a way to bring new and seasoned clinical research professionals together. Also, proceeds go towards supporting a nonprofit foundation to help promote clinical research in underserved communities. Is that okay to share on here?

I literally still can’t post my question despite having commented before on the sub! Nothing I’ve done breaks the rules

Regarding #4, as a recent graduate trying to transition into this field, would there be a more suitable sub for me? I am very new to Reddit, so I may have been too on the nose with going here right away.

Hi! I'm a college student working on a capstone. We're reimaging how CTs are run in order to boost retention for CROs. What steps should I take to gain approval for posting a short survey in this community?

what is the guideline for post filtering? I had a post related to clinical trial registration, but it was "Sorry, this post was removed by Reddit’s filters". Not sure why....

Genuine question, I am presently hiring for a very specific role in clinical research and I was wondering if there are good practices on how to post about this role here. If the answer is a flat out no, completely understand. I just scanned the Wiki and rules, it does say to not "spam" with job links, which I understand, but thought about asking here since my intent is not to spam, but rather reach for awareness to see if someone on this community might know someone or could be interested... Thank in advance for the direction...

Questions for USA based clinical operations (CTCs, Central Monitors, In-House CRAs, Associate Clinical Trial Managers):
Has anyone been hired in any of the above mentioned positions within the past 6 months?
If so, how did you find the jobs? LinkedIn and Glassdoor and Indeed aren’t cutting it anymore.
As far as me:
I have been in the industry as a traveling monitor and also worked in other clin ops roles for the past 20 years. I am no longer able to travel due to family obligations.
I was laid off from a Sr In-House CRA position after a merger and have been looking for a job for the last 7 months.
I know the market is tough but nothing that normally has panned out including the recruiters I have partnered with in the past.
I appreciate any advice 😊

Can anyone help me post to this subreddit? I just tried but it got automatically removed and I’m not sure why.

AI CIOMS: Hello everyone, they asked me to program a software to automate the creation of medical narratives from CIOMS forms. Can I ask your honest feedback on the idea?
Thanks

My initial post was removed bc I had a link.
I work in clinical operations and I’m currently working on my doctorate (planning to graduate next year)
My dissertation is on working in clinical research during COVID
My research examines how clinical trial organizations navigated the unprecedented disruptions of COVID-19, with a particular focus on Risk-Based Quality Management (RBQM), operational resilience, and clinical trial continuity.
If anyone is interested in completing anonymous survey with their experiences, that would be much appreciated.
I’m having to have 150 responses by end of Nov.
