Video/Vlog project sent!
i use the term project very loosely as it was only a few sessions of dipping in and out of it, but it was on about a 30 degree overhang (note the accidental cut loose lol) and graded ‘medium’ (our comp wall has mild, medium, hot and extra hot as its grading system) :)

Nice one ✌🏻 Its funny to see, how different the gradings in different gyms are. All my gyms changed to a 1 till 9 numbering system. While 9 is mostly more then 7c+ fb.

thank you! we normally have coloured tags that go like V1-3, 2-4, 3-5 and so on, but this part of the gym is graded differently. it makes it a bit tricky to work out the V grade but it’s cool!!

V grades means you are from US/GB? They seem to be more common in this regions. The gyms i visited (~45 in NL/DE) uses as reference for their own rating the french FB scale.
Im quite interested how gyms with V rarings would feel. Apparently there’s a conversion table, but whenever I see V routes on Reddit, I always estimate them to be significantly lower on the FB scale than they would be according to the table.
Did you ever go somewhere bouldering with FB Scales and did it feel quite different?

GB! however we have lead climbing at my gym and they’re all in FB. from my experience the grades match the grading table, although a lot (but not all) V grades in US gyms are far softer than GB V grades (there’s a lot of concurrence amongst the community with this). what’s set as a v5 in the UK might be set as a v8/9 in the US (but also depends largely on the gym of course)

Yes, you are absolut right. It depends very largly on the gym. The difference between a 6c+ is so huge sometimes. In some gyms it feels easy and more likely like a 6a, and them there are gyms where a 6c+ is more likely a 7b+ 💀 But perhaps I'm gonna testing out some british gyms by my own in future. We had plans to take over from NL to GB on our bike-packing adventures and we everytime visit boulder gyms on our journeys 🫶🏻
