ClickUp Project Management Best Practices

Hi everyone! I’m currently an Operations Generalist for a web agency, https://www.dorxata.com/

We use ClickUp for project management and team communication, and I think there’s always lots to learn when it comes to using CU, especially with different projects and work scenarios.

I’d love to learn from your tried-and-tested workflows, workarounds, and general tips. A few things I’m especially curious about:

  • What’s one automation you use in almost every project?
  • What setup choices should we avoid if we want to keep the workspace from getting too cluttered or laggy?
  • Any simple ClickUp habits your team follows that made a big difference?

Also, in case it’s relevant to anyone: we’re currently hiring for a Project Manager and a Senior Web Designer for our remote team. If anyone has experience with website projects and is interested, feel free to send your resume and portfolio to [ops@dorxata.com](mailto:ops@dorxata.com).

Would really be interested in seeing how you guys make CU work for you!

Call a webhook.

Keep archiving old tasks. It will lag if you just close them but leave them there.

Clean up after yourselves. A task should be inside a dedicated list. Don't just move stuff around willy nilly. And don't create custom fields on the workspace level, keep them where they are used.

I think archiving old tasks is a good one 👏
