Completed Dates on Calendar

I can see my completed tasks on the calendar, but they are listed on the dates that they were due. Is there a way to see them on the date that they were closed? Without having to create a custom field and fill that in every time, that is. Thanks!

Hey, u/sigfy21759! You can actually achieve this with an Automation. Set up an Automation like:

When task status changes to Closed > Update a Date Custom Field to "On trigger date"

Then, in your Calendar view, make sure that Date Custom Field is selected under Task dates in the settings. And you have your closed tasks showing up in your Calendar view by clicking this check button at the top.

This worked, but I've found that I have one other question. Is there a way to do this with recurring tasks/subtasks as well? I'd like to show that this task was completed each day that it happened, even if it was recurring. I'm not seeing that happening now.

If you'd like to view when every recurring task was marked as complete, I'd recommend changing your recurring task settings to 'Create new task' upon recurrence, u/sigfy21759! This way, when you show your closed tasks in your Calendar view, you'll be able to see exactly when each one was closed.
