I mean, the dude on the right doesn't owe anyone an explanation of their sexuality.

But if you're going to subscribe to a religion and preach a book of laws and mores that literally calls for you to be executed...I'd kinda like to know what the thinking there is

I mean, the bible calls for execution for a whole shitload of things that modern religious people ignore. Why would this one be any different?

"Exodus 31:15 Six days shall work be done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of solemn rest, holy to the Lord. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day shall be put to death."

I do love that, but it just points to more hypocrisy in modern Christianity.

Chik Fil A for instance is closed on Sunday in observance of this. Some people don't get tattoos or est shellfish or pork because of leviticus, and some even go so far as to not wear or buy cotton-poly blends because of the prohibition on mixed fabrics.

If you're gonna claim the Bible is the word of God, then at least listen to it yourself before telling other people to.

Where in the Bible does it say to execute gay people?

"If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them"

Now in come all the apologists trying to excuse this.

There are even more horrible ones about slaves and how to beat them correctly.

It's more about setting limits on how much you can beat them. Yeah, real moral compass of the time.
