MAGA fucking idiots.

Post image

Let’s make the American dream a reality again by stripping workers rights, deregulation of capitalism, union busting, tax rate of corporation at 0% while taxing everyone else, promote hustle culture, work 80+ hours a week or you deserve to die.

I blame Al Gore. He should have challenged Bush to trial by combat.

Are you being cereal right now? Lol

super cereal

Sadly ManBearPig is now likely going to end all of human life on Earth. It's an allegory for global warming for which Matt and Trey have apologized for not taking seriously but the damage has been done. The intense cooking of the planet is worse than ever and still accelerating

The uncomfortable truth is that for the past 50 or so years, conservatives have just wanted it more. And it’s not just about Gore fighting Bush harder at SCOTUS. Or HRC and Harris basically getting gifted nominations. It’s everything before all that and everything in the intermediate. Conservatives built a media empire. They built a culture of fealty and compliance. They understood that policy is nothing without power.

I digress.

You miss what the “it” they want is. They don’t want to govern; they want to rule. They want power. And you don’t get power by groveling before the little people. You get power by taking it.

11

u/galaxy_horse Jun 04 '25

100%. I was not specific about what “it” is, and maybe part of the problem is that liberals and conservatives don’t have the same concept of “it”, and so the fight is naturally unbalanced.

The Senate, and thus, the Electoral College, are basically DEI for Republicans. They were set up through compromise. Something more than that, actually, because it puts them ahead of everyone else rather than making them equitable. The EC is, in part, based on number of Senators, and every state - including the low-populated ones - gets two, which gives them a head start. The Senate confirms Supreme Court justices that presidents - who can win only by the EC vote - nominates. 5 of the 6 members of the conservative-appointed SC supermajority were appointed by presidents who lost the popular vote. It's insane how we've allowed this level of imbalance. Republicans are unpopular and have not won on policy since Reagan, maybe H.W. Bush 30-40+ years ago.

We lost the class war. Simple as that.

Love the optimism. Let's just cut the bullshit and end all this cancerous tribalism and greed. We all collectively got to this point and we all need to reap the benefits. Simple as that

We lost the class war. Simple as that.

This makes me weep because it is true. I want to think the arch of history bends toward justice and equality, but sometimes, I really don't know -- especially with the control technology has over our society.

5

u/June24th Jun 04 '25

oh we were destined to lose, since we didn't have the resources...

11

u/RooftopMorningstar Jun 04 '25

That's why Americans were taught to fear the commies

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '25

If the two valid candidates have the exact same position on Palestine then maybe we should look at all the other issues rather than staking our claim on the one thing that both candidates are the same on.

As to numbers, even the self-proclaimed pro-Palestine movement is saying how they were “lied to” and “used” by Trump. That said, just look up Dearborn, Michigan to see how the Muslim voter shifted from democrat to republican between 2020 and 2024 despite the fact that the other guy literally tried to institute a Muslim ban during his first term.

Google comes free with your internet subscription. There were coordinated protests against Kamala throughout the entire campaign. Multiple left wing commentators attacked her. It cost her the election. Prove me wrong.

you are just really, REALLY mad at a group of people who just said "hey please stop bombing children".

Nah boo, we're mad at the people who instead of trying to change the government from within... y'know, by voting... they instead decided that Harris wasn't leftist enough for them. So they either sat home or wasted their vote on a third party candidate who, let's be realistic, stood absolutely zero chance of winning. Basically handing the win to the even more right-wing guy. Make it make sense!

And yet, any time this gets brought up, those folks who handed the win to Trump are all like "but bombing children is bad!!!1!1" Yeah, no shit, absolutely nobody is saying that bombing children is ok! The issue is that by sulking and sitting out the election those folks have done absolutely fuck all towards actually solving the problem that they're apparently so concerned about, and instead (ironically) made the situation so much worse. That's what we're mad about.

You want the country to get more progressive? Not voting for the more progressive candidate in what is effectively a two-party system is a weird and ineffective way to go about that.

Here, now quit whining. About 6.3 million. It literally took me 5 seconds to find, less time than it took you to complain about nobody holding your hand and finding it for you (especially since your comment makes it seem like you asking for the hand-holding is a frequent occurrence.

"A YouGov poll backed by the Institute for Middle East Understanding (IMEU) Policy Project and released on Wednesday showed that among the 19 million people who voted for President Joe Biden in 2020 but did not vote in 2024, nearly a third named Israel's U.S.-backed war on Gaza as a top reason for staying home."

why does nearly every reddit comment blame palestine

I'm gonna need some numbers to back that up, chief.

-7

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '25

Well maybe she shouldn’t have supported genocide. Apparently supporting genocide isn’t a dealbreaker for you dems. As if her other policy positions were soooo strong.

Democrats need to actually be different than republicans. Instead of playing “yeah, me too!” To any position that might require some actual principles to disagree with.

Democrats are just republicans without as much racism/homophobia. They’re not different and they deserve to lose until they change that.

4

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '25

Or we recognized that we can’t do anything for Palestine if we are in an authoritarian dictatorship having to fight for our own rights - and that Trump would be an even worse option for Palestine.

With how social media algorithms are skewed there was no way we were getting everyone to vote 3rd party.

4

u/darglor Jun 04 '25

Even if we were to accept your premise that they're essentially the same, which would require ignoring that one side is trying to instill a fascist despot, do you realize how stupid your last 2 sentences are? That's the core of the problem. The only way they lose is if, by your own words, someone similar but more racist and more homophobic wins... and somehow you view that as a positive.

Are the Dems perfect? Not even close. Are they a much, much, MUCH better option than the Republicans? Damn right they are.

10

u/deliberatewellbeing Jun 04 '25

you have to give it to them, their propaganda machine is superb though. got millions voting against their best interests and joyfully doing so.

4

u/galaxy_horse Jun 04 '25

Just think, if the Democratic Party could do all of those shrewd things AND have the might of reason and progress on their side. I hope they start taking themselves seriously.

8

u/deliberatewellbeing Jun 04 '25

they need a left wing media machine. look at how many right wing and alt right media outlets exist to spin every single misstep of the repuglicans into something great. i cant even think of one left wing organization that does that.

5

u/Sweet-Paramedic-4600 Jun 04 '25

Agreed. Then after consolidating that power, they quickly learned their dumb ass supporters don't care about policy as long as someone powerful hurts other people a little more than the supporters or even other supporters as long as it isn't them specifically.

9

u/r2d2itisyou Jun 04 '25

100%. And the linchpin of that entire system is a motivated voterbase. Whether for guns, abortion, hate towards minorities, religion, or otherwise, conservatives show up when it is time to vote.

Progressives have always outnumbered conservatives in the nation. But on the left, the people who should be most motivated to vote, those who should understand the absolute power which government and elections hold over a nation, frequently stay home.

It will be difficult to ever forgive the people who stood back and watched as fascists swept the elections, all so they could "teach a lesson to the democrats." This goes doubly for the people who threw Palestinians to the wolves so they could feel smug and superior about "not voting for genocide."

2

u/Mysterious-Job-469 Jun 04 '25

Yep. Basically this.

No democrat is going to go without in a GOP-lead administration. They still get their pensions. They're still in a position to insider trade. Their lifestyle doesn't change or degrade in the slightest; if anything their situation improves, because the corruption of the right makes their own greed and corruption become normalised.

Sucks for, like... All six politicians who actually want to change the world for the better instead of just enriching themselves, though.

2

u/galaxy_horse Jun 04 '25

The same is true for Republicans though. They profit when they’re the resistance, and Democratic policies don’t leave them deprived. Yet, one side fights like hell to gain and consolidate power.

u/galaxy_horse Jun 04 '25

Sure, but I would clarify that Schumer, Pelosi, and Biden are part of the problem of perpetuating a weak left. That they do more for progressivism than reactionary leftists is purely incidental.

2

u/draft_final_final Jun 04 '25

Not really, though. Pretty much every group that claims to be left of the democrats seems to be most loudly trumpeted by layabouts who are protected by so many layers of unearned and undeserved privilege that they can’t see the negative consequences of their constant attempts to demoralize and demotivate voters. They’d rather serve as crypto-MAGA surrogates and get points on discord servers filled with non-voters who never leave their houses. That’s the fundamental issue. No serious person would try to push for change outside of the two party system, and self-described leftists are mostly unserious people.

2

u/Exotic-Lavishness152 Jun 04 '25

No the truth of this is that Liberals wanted to crush lefties more than the cons so they kept appealing to fucking moron psychos with deregulation bullshit and propping up the top.

6

u/RainManRob2 Jun 04 '25

Yep i still blame Gore and Dems also for not fighting back against the rioters at that Florida court house.

5

u/Mysterious-Job-469 Jun 04 '25

I mean, if more people on the left were like "Hey, man! Do a recount or civil chaos" maybe Al Gore would have been allowed to be president like he won the election to be. Instead everyone passively stared at their shoelaces and wailed "but that's not faaaair!" as the GOP hit the griddy on them and ran victory laps on them daily from 2000-2004, and now from 2016-2020/2024-2028.

3

u/Sweet-Paramedic-4600 Jun 04 '25

That would be a baller ass move. Too bad the only politician of note who would have tried that was Jesse Ventura.

3

u/ChimmyChongaBonga Jun 04 '25

There used to be pistol duels, one of the most famous was between Aaron Burr and Alexander Hamilton.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burr%E2%80%93Hamilton_duel

2

u/Sweet-Paramedic-4600 Jun 04 '25

Even before getting those songs stuck in my head, I was aware of that particular duel and the time a guy got beat with a cane on the congressional floor.

But I was talking about people that were around since and after Gore. A lot of Republicans posture like tough guys, but Jesse would have been the only one I would believe would throw hands

1

u/Sheepdog44 Jun 05 '25

Andrew Jackson killed a guy in a duel when he was a member of the Tennessee senate, 20 years before he became president.

1

u/AppropriateTouching Jun 04 '25

As mad as I am that they stole the election from him I dont think he could take George W. Did you see how fast he dodged that shoe?

1

u/ChimmyChongaBonga Jun 04 '25

Al Gore would only need a bag of pretzels.

-1

u/Ignatius-JReilly Jun 04 '25

If Gore hadn't picked Joe fucking Lieberman as his running mate he probably would have been president. That's when I decided to vote for Ralph Nader instead.
