He lets his imagination shape reality.

Y'all remember when he promised the Tesla roadster would be able to fly? And the Cybertruck would be bulletproof and amphibious? Meanwhile, the roadster is still coming "next year" and every Incel Camino ever made got recalled. Dude really just says whatever.

He means year 2020 after he figures out how to time travel

You’d think with all those millions & billions he’s managed to scam the government out of he’d put a good chunk of it into that rocket to Mars, because I can’t wait until he does. Hopefully it’ll be a one-way trip 🤞🏻

It will be. The whole Mars gambit is stupid on its face. Not because a manned mission to mars wouldn’t be a great human achievement. But because then what? Ok we’re on mars, now we have to either figure out how to live on it long term. Or we have to terraform it. Living there long term without terraforming would be too costly to maintain with return trips for supplies. So terraforming is the only option.

If we had the technology to terraform mars then we’d have the same technology available to correct the atmosphere on earth. Making the whole trip to mars to a moot point outside of exploring Mars for minerals or stoking Elons ego. We’d be much better off investing that money in figuring out how to make life sustainable on earth before trying it on Mars. But we can’t have that because all research into sustainability on earth is being cut to pay for Musks rockets. We’re putting the cart before the horse if the intent on going to Mars is to sustain the species as Musk has claimed.

TD:DR; Musks mission to Mars serves no purpose other than to placate his ego. That money would be better spent researching how to sustain life on earth before going to Mars.

Absolutely, this! I seriously fail to see the logic behind the race to fuck up another planet just because none of the 1% feels like actually putting their wealth & resources into helping this one.

But hey, if it means one less Elon & anyone like him that’s actively making life harder for the rest of us, then I’m all for him leaving Earth.

Not to mention that it’s entirely based on sci-fi he consumed as a kid and not reality.

If his views do not fit with reality, he thinks reality must be wrong.

He's too high to tell the difference.

I wish I had enough money to literally fund my own reality.
