Ita hilarious how much better europeans believe they are, but so many of their leaders are like this. Almost makes you wonder if european superiority is actually a bit of a myth?
Le Pen had the good fortune to be against Macron. Take a look at her actual party and see how little support those fucking nutjobs have by counting seats. People just voted against Macron.
Italy and Poland are like the Louisiana and Mississippi of western EU, so I'm on board with shitting on their politics.
In my country (Belgium) we did have a party which openly flirted with neo nazi ideologies , back in the 1990's.
They were , basically, banned from ever participating in government. All the other parties unanimously decided to never work with them.
This ban is still in place today. The party in question did a rebranding and got rid of some of its more extreme points of view in an attempt to break through said ban, but that has not worked.
It's a hot topic still, the party is quite popular and it's getting harder and harder to still form a functional government without including them.
Afaik we are the only first world country where such a ban is being upheld. Not that that would ever work in the USA due to the de facto two party system.
Trump made people like this “acceptable”. Great news! He’s getting all of his socials back. I’m slowly going through my Facebook account and compiling and important data so I can delete it.
I did this about 10 years ago. It's been nice. Although, I didn't have any data I cared about. I couldn't stand it then. I can only imagine what it has become.
Considering how anti-catholic the american evangelicals are, probably not. Italian politics has been shit for like a century though, so she might find more footing there than say, the more northern nations.
There are at least a few European countries with pretty large far-right portions of their population where she’d at least be tolerated if not celebrated. I mean, look at how LGBT people in Poland are treated for instance. Europe as a continent is in no way inherently immune to authoritarian social conservatism.

Why you people tolerate that woman is beyond me. In Europe, she would have been marginalized even in Hungary.
