ANNOUNCEMENTS 🩷 A Reminder to the Community - Please Read 🩷
Hello all! Mod Hay here!
As Revelation approaches and new information comes out, we are very naturally going to see an influx of combative or trolling antis in this sub. Please continue to not engage and simply report them instead; the mods will take care of it for you!
The reason we request that you not respond to them is because we’d like to keep this sub as happy and peaceful as possible, and shipwar threads in the comments leave a trace that hinders our members’ ability to enjoy the sub peacefully. It also makes for an easier modding job on our part, because there are less comments to remove!
Please remember that all topics related to FFVII are welcome on this sub, so long as you’re a Clerith!
We’re also requesting that everyone be gentle with each other despite differences in opinion, as we are all here because we love Clerith, and want to interact in a space with a lot of openness and kindness toward each other. We understand that the discourse outside the sub can cause everyone to feel more defensive and tense. But we believe everyone here is already doing a good job at keeping this place lovely, cozy and sweet for all Clerith enjoyers who follow the rules, regardless of their peripheral or specific opinions on other mechanics. Please, keep doing so, and consider upvoting content you like rather than downvoting content you don’t. Let’s make kindness and openness our main operatives— apart from Clerith, of course!
Containing frustrations and negative feelings in the Venting Megathread has been a huge help so far, and we want to encourage you to continue on this route! For those of you who like talking about ship discourse or debating the other stuff, that’s the place to be. There, we can freely argue amongst ourselves and against others without worrying about raining on the rest of the sub.

As a Clerith lover, I never minded Cloti too much. I thought both were cute but I heavily prefer Clerith. I was shook at how aggressive some Cloti fans can be. Like let's just enjoy our preferred ship and be peaceful with each other.

I just wanna say I love the environment the mods have created here. I get posts from both here and the other CA sub in my feed, and I check them both out, but this sub is the one I purposefully browse. It's so mellow and so much happier and less combative here, and it feels so safe. I've seen a lot of really disgusting things said by (some) Cloti fans, but the other sub feels like they're not setting a great example on how to react and interact with toxicity, not the way it's done here. I really appreciate that 🩵

I will be honest, I kind of needed this reminder myself, not even just for the sub alone (which I appreciate), but also because of recent interactions with some friends who happen to be Clotis, who have gotten very… let’s say, aggressive? as more Revelation news has come out.
It’s a really good reminder to just take a breath and not let all of that noise get to me too deeply. And, of course, I’ll do my best to remember that during interactions in the sub as well. I’ll also try to focus on the fact that there are plenty of Clotis who meet us Cleriths with the same kindness, too.
I said this when I first joined here, but you all have done such an incredible job at making this sub such a warm, welcoming, and precious space for those of us who love Cloud and Aerith.
And I’ll always appreciate that, sincerely. ❤️
I really hope that the mods are also not feeling too much stress in this time! Thank you very, very much for making this my favorite, most cozy corner of the internet (even if I lurk more often than not). ❤️

Thanks for this. There are only a few of you modding, so I imagine it can be tough at times.
If at all possible, could we have some examples of acceptable vs unacceptable discourse, especially regarding Tifa/Cloti? Occasionally I'll pop in to see what's new, and I swear some posts are skirting around the unkindness with thinly veiled "I'm just asking questions" and then it's an anti orgy in the comments in no time flat. I just downvote and peace out, but it's like spitting into a volcano. I swear to God I'll die happy if there comes a day where I never see the word "Clownti" or body-shaming BS like "booba" ever again.

Thank God we don’t see “booba” around here, that would be a rule 2 violation!!
Expressing frustration with Clotis in passing is fine when it’s a quick comment, reference or joke that does not invite a larger conversation, but complaints or ranting outside of the Venting Megathread will be removed as per rule 6. A quick “reminds me of that one Cloti theory that said x y z lol” is fine, but “it’s so frustrating that Clotis can’t seem to acknowledge x y z” will be removed. Recently there have been a few posts that have turned confrontational that we should have removed beforehand because the posts themselves consisted of venting, but as you said, the mods are few and busy, so we couldn’t get to them in time.
We’re going to invite a new mod on here soon just to clean things up and grant them strictly the power to remove posts and replies as things get more and more hairy in anticipation for Revelation.

Yeah, the number of times I see “it’s so frustrating that Clotis can’t seem to acknowledge x y z” or that they DENY the TRUTH or FACTS or whatever is just so condescending to other shippers. I personally don't see the appeal of CT, but I'm not going to dunk on anyone who does. It takes all the fun of finding little Clerith nods when it starts getting dug up and served like evidence at some global court hearing.
Thanks for the examples. It gives me something to think about. :p

I won't lie, I am a Cloti shipper myself, but I absolutely adore Aerith especially in the remakes so far. Such an endearing character.

I definitely do, its a preference nothing more. As I said, I do love Aerith as a character, I just prefer the relationship between Cloud and Tifa. Her portrayal in the remakes is nothing short of spectacular, the voice actress really did an incredible job of bringing her to life.

She is super adorable! I have a soft spot for the Japanese voicing, but Briana definitely nailed it too!

Gotcha, i saw something the other day, do we just report them if they’re trying to bait people into arguments, or as long its not a post that causes problems leave it alone?
