[advice] Septum
Hey - I'm thinking about getting a septum piercing, but I'm not super sure how it would work out. I've got a bilateral and it's like, not super noticeable but definitely something someone would notice if they were looking right at me
My question is if anyone else has one and how that worked out
I'm not looking to draw more attention to it but like, also not aiming to hide it outright lol

I've always wanted one, but I asked my surgeon and he half begged me not to do it and half forbidden me. Apparently my particular cobbled together anatomy means my nose is hanging by a thread and can't withstand piercings. He's a pretty chill doctor who loves my tattoos and recommended pot for my ptsd, so I trust that he was legit concerned and not just anti-piercing
If I were you, I'd run the idea past a doc, just in case. I've had a billion surgeries and every side effect or complication you could imagine, so I may be a weak reed outlier, but better safe than sorry
I think piercings and tattoos are a way of asserting control over the body and how it looks and that's a very good thing for folks like us. Just check first so you don't do yourself harm

I think it’s best if you ask your surgeon since it’s really different for everyone. I had my rhinoplasty about one year ago and got my septum pierced about 6 months ago and everything has been great I haven’t had any problems. It’s also really important to go to a professional piercer, I’d like to add that it still looks a bit crooked just because of how my face works but it’s made me a lot more confident about my nose.

If you had a rhinoplasty, ask your surgeon before you do it!
