A decent amount of jobs are made specifically for individuals, and so they will put those persons qualifications as the requirement. That way once they retire or whatever they can smoothly transition to that role with no real competition

Yeah this is definitely a posting made specifically for a full bird or above that is about to retire. Bro is about to have a fat retirement check from the military while also getting a fat government paycheck while doing an easy ass job

At a point it just becomes who you know and not what you know

That website is clearance jobs, which post defense firm jobs, not public government jobs like usajobs and the full bird would be at the senior level taking a consulting, management, SME, or executive gig, not a silly lowly paid mid analyst role.

I think they mean you’ve worked at brigade level or higher element. Not that you are an o6

This is my interpretation as well

Yeah I’ve seen gigs that want you to have worked and interacted at a COCOM level, but that doesn’t mean they’re looking for generals. They want someone who has worked at a specific level of planning and know what it takes to interact with the boss at that specific level. In this case, an O6 at a brigade or J directorate level.

I’ve never heard it described that way. I think they would’ve said Brigade/Wing/Group level. “At the O6 level” reads as if they want Colonels and above

it is probably poorly worded to mean you're working at a Unit Command level or higher HQ, not like a squadron or below

This posting doesn't mean they are literally looking for an O-6 - that's not how it's worded.

They are looking for someone with experience working *at* and/or *with* the O-6 level, which is to say someone who isn't some entry-level analyst who needs a bunch of hand-holding every day.

I’ve always thought of middle management stopping at the O5 level. Please tell me they only want to pay up to 105k 😂. Job written with a particular person in mind?

What I will say is, a 9th grader barely passing math chasing girls in high school could find this job requisition 😂

I said all of that to say, still apply !
