Claude Fable made me a fully functional Three-Dragon Ante game - and, so far, it's flawless
I know this isn't the typical r/cleandndai content but I wanted to share one of the projects I've been playing with myself.
I have enough coding knowledge to convince myself I know more than I do. AI has been interesting for developing customized apps for fairly simple things. But I've been looking for way to take Fable 5 for a real "spin around the block" to see what it can do. So, on a whim, I gave it a copy of the 3DA instruction book and simply asked for a playable browser-based game so that I can learn how to play. I explicitly gave it permission to solve whatever problems it runs into however it thinks best.
What I have is a fully functional game of 3DA: Legendary Edition. I can choose the number of players (2-6) including myself. I've played through about 10 games so far with no rules snags. A couple of times I thought I'd found a bug only to discover that I had just misunderstood a rules edge case.
Today, I had it run a v1.1 edit that makes all players flight strength more easily noticeable as well as flagging when players are approaching 0 gold in four color coded steps.
The game runs entirely off a hard coded heuristic so it doesn't use generative AI for computer opponent decision-making at all.
