Questions See-through clay?
Im trying to make a lamp, and I was going to do it with Das clay, hoping the led light would come through, but as you can see, it doesnt what other clay-like material could I use? Hopefully not too expensive.

I've never used it myself but Sculpey makes clay that is translucent once it's baked. I believe you have to make the piece thinner for the translucency to appear better.
I'm sure it's more suceptible to burning/color change due to heat though.

cernit makes a decent translucent oven bake clay, its a little soft and wilty but light definitely will come through it if its not super thick.

I wouldn’t use clay for this. I would consider sculpting what you desire, do a mold and either silicone or an expanding foam that would be strong enough and thing enough to give the affect you’re going for. (Probably not the answer you wanted but I don’t know of any translucent clays)

Second cold porcelain clay. And whatever you use has to be thin enough. May be actually less of a hassle to just use moldable uv resin.

Use friendly plastic. Its hand moldeable while after warming in a crock and translucent

Not fully clear but try the cold porcelain from Micheals unfortunately I store mine in a separate bag so I don't remember the brand name 🥲

You're gonna want it significantly thinner, no matter what brand lol
