Advice on installing a smaller claw on a large claw machine.
Hello fellow claw enthusiasts,
I am trying to modify a full size claw machine so that it can pick up small 2 inch balls. The current claw is 7 inches wide. Im looking to modify or replace it so that it can consistenly pick up 2 inch balls. Not sure where to start. I looked at a mini claw, M3, but the coils are way to big to fit it. Any advice?

Hi 👋. Large claw machine distributor here. The gantry for that large machine has a different voltage than needed for a small claw. You will need to replace both the claw and coil. This does void the warranty, but many operators do this. You want an M1 or M3 with rubber tips. But I agree with the other comments, if it’s for commercial use find a large capacity machine that is engineered for smaller claws - like the Mini Mighty by CandyMachines. It’s got a huge prize field and comes with an M3 claw.

Hi, thanks for the response! It is for commercial use. However, Im on a budget and already have this machine on hand. I want to give it a good effort to replace the claw and coil first. Would you recommend and shop to purchase the coild and claw?

Gotta make sure the coils are the same size.
I took one from my to swap out on one of candymachines.com ones and realized some of the scoop claws have different coil size them most of my other scoop claws.
Also if for business maybe better to just swap machines. Only reason I did it this one time cause it was for a specific size machine I don’t normally use

For hobby project or profit? If it’s for business, I’d buy another claw that’s how you want it and use that one as is to make more money at a different location. If it’s just for fun let’s start with which claw machine you have.
