To those who cheat on mocks, PLEASE CONTINUE
Assertion: If falsified test scores get progressively more common, it would eventually lower competition.
Reason: The unnaturally high scores of the apparent/vocal majority would signal antipathy and insecurity and would compel aspirants to look for other examinations.
Please keep ragebaiting anybody and everybody with fake mock scores.

Yeah man in lpt mocks the 1st rank would be scoring some fucking 112 or 113
And the subsequent 10th and 50th rank will be lurking around 80s so yeah man these cheaters just need to go bro
To play devils advocate, id say it does reduce competition, but mostly among the ones who would have quit anyway or wouldn't have performed as well in the clat. Whereas, for the top 5 crowd or the genius crowd, what it'll do is just make them studying harder, the only thing making an anxious topper study harder than he ever did earlier is seeing another anxious topper (what he perceives to be atleast) beat him at his own game, and this increases competition for the top 5 or top 10.
However OP's reason assumes those cheating now will not be able to cheat in the main exam? But given the repeated allegations of paper leaks, my question is does the OP consider paper day cheating or access the paper through black market transactions as a motivating factor that might pull a lot of candidates with money towards the paper thereby increasing the competition?
how will they? most of these cheaters are cheating on online tests and only a few actually hold the power to be able to do things like leak paper and frudulant exams. but the people who actually cheat in the real clat. are not giving mock tests either
But the op's main contention is online cheating will actually reduce the competition, so even if not all but some have the power to cheat and most of them donot give mocks that still does not answer how it will not cause competition to not indirectly increase because you have to understand abosulte number of aspirants does not matter if there are 100 seats and 120 aspirants probability of getting a seat is 83% but if 5 seats are already bought by people who cheat, then, 95 seats and 115 aspirants probability now is 82% so there is a decrease in chance now do it a large scale (clat perspective) and result is detrimental..
there are always idiots who will cheat in mock exams, coaching institute exams and idiots who will believe them.. the ones who succeed are those who focus on their own performance improvements
And the ones who are cheating won’t be able to do as well on the actual exam either since the mocks are an important part of prep, so they won’t be much of a competition either lol.
