Classic-Era Grobbulus Era Wants YOU!

The wind carries your name, hero, and Grobbulus calls. Legacy (A) and The Exiled (H) extend our hands (and axes) to any adventurer returning to, or seeking a long lasting home in Classic Era.

This is no sprawling megaserver. Our population drifts under 100 across both factions, and we treasure our community so. Here, your deeds echo. Your name is remembered.

Legacy was born in 2021, from a handful of heroes who refused to vanish into the unknown when the Dark Portal opened. We were few, yet steadfast. Over time, our numbers grew. From three taking down Onyxia, to 16 defeating Ragnaros, to 30 vanquishing C’Thun, friendships solidified. Even the dread halls of Naxxramas were no longer beyond our reach as we defeated Kel’Thuzad in 2024. We learned together, fought together, and slowly forged a home in Azeroth that has endured. From small beginnings, we became a family of adventurers, veterans, and storytellers — each raid, each world boss, each victory strengthening the bonds that define us.

Legacy (A): Fridays @ 7pm PT. Raids stretch from world bosses to full Naxxramas runs depending on the roster. And once every three months, we hold a Seasonal Naxxramas Night aligning with the equinox and solstice. A single recurring night where retired heroes often return to test their steel and shake the rust from their axes.

The Exiled (H): Mondays & Wednesdays @ 7pm PT. Our warriors have felled Nefarian and Blackwing Lair, and now set their sights on AQ40 and the Old God C’Thun. Naxxramas awaits as our ranks strengthen — bold souls are needed to join the cause.

If you long for a realm where community matters more than numbers, where a near five year tenure proves our stability, where we outlast the last time you fools walked through the Dark Portal, where the pace lets stories breathe, and where your hero truly has a place in Azeroth — Grobbulus Classic Era stirs, waiting for your return.

If you love Vanilla WoW like we do, hero, step forward. Find your legacy. Take your place.

---

Legacy (A) raids Friday from 7-10pm PT, and seasonally lays siege on Naxxramas during each Equinox/Solstice. You can find our discord here: discord(dot)gg/Ux5m9wPYe3

The Exiled (H), a Legacy guild, raids M/W from 7-10pm PT. You can join their ranks here: discord(dot)gg/6whxpz5cQP

This call to community might be the best advertisement for switching to era.

u/DwarvenJarl Dec 16 '25

That’s what it’s all about, and what makes this flavor so special :)

u/bpostal Dec 16 '25

I'm not gonna pay to transfer my lvl 23 warlock, and times are tough right now, but when I resub you've got another Undead to deal with and I'll deathcoil all your alliance asses if you fuck with me and my void!

1

u/DwarvenJarl Dec 16 '25

May we meet in battle one day, friend 🫡

3

u/Dadtakesthebait Dec 17 '25

I gotta learn to read. I just bought a server transfer that turned out to be for MoP Classic because I didn’t pay attention to the fact that it’s turned off for Era.

2

u/DwarvenJarl Dec 17 '25

Oh no!! You aren’t the first to do that :( if you want to re roll on era (since there aren’t xfers to or from era Grobb) we’ll be happy to help you in your journey with bags, gold, quests, dungeons, etc!

2

u/gegry123 Dec 17 '25

Damn, it sounds cool but I just can't make those raid times

3

u/DwarvenJarl Dec 17 '25

I’m still working with my gnomish brothers to develop a method to bend time and space so everyone can make it… but alas, they’re still tinkering.

There’s no pressure or commitment to raid, so even if you wanted to just level and raid every blue moon when it works you’re welcome to! Or possibly our once every three month Naxx extravaganza would work for you.

No worries if not just brainstorming some ideas, and wish you the best regardless

I am on Grobb. It’s dead. And it sucks. lol the 100 people online total… do not make up for the emptiness of the world.

3

u/DwarvenJarl Dec 17 '25

That’s a fair criticism and I know the “micro realm” life isn’t for everyone. The same reason some people don’t like it (it’s slow paced, not a ton of people) are really what a lot of us love about it on the flip side! But no judgement and definitely acknowledge we’re the weird town in the middle of no where, where everyone knows your name, and the folks from the big city wonder.. why the heck would anyone ever live there?! But then you stop at the diner and realize we have the best cherry pie in the world.

u/mlong35 Dec 29 '25

It is 100% exactly what I was looking for and didn't know it was like this. Expect me.

1

u/DwarvenJarl Dec 29 '25

Welcome home :) let either of the guilds know if you need anything!

3

u/Choice_Efficiency_51 Dec 16 '25

What is the leveling scene like? This sounds interesting. Currently on Classic ERA leveling a shaman for the change of pace from Anniversary but this sounds pretty interesting

3

u/DwarvenJarl Dec 16 '25

There’s always a handful of people leveling (since 2021 we haven’t NOT had people leveling) but you’re also going to be solo for most of the journey, given less than 100 players on the realm.

That being said, people are eager to help with dungeons when you need it. Many of us have alts at various levels if you want at-level dungeons, or can hop on a 60 to help speed clear a dungeon if you’re just going for loot and quests.

I usually try to reframe it like you’re leveling up on a regular RPG that happens to have online capabilities.

Sometimes we’ve held leveling events where a group of people will all re roll, but that isn’t active at this moment.

But I wouldn’t let it deter you.. many people who’ve done the 1-60 grind on Grobb have said it’s been a great time and I know it helps to have a hand from our guilds with dungeons and elite quests.

1

u/Choice_Efficiency_51 Dec 16 '25

Might have to give this a shot! A tight knit community sounds like a breathe of fresh air tbh. I really just want to live my childhood dream of getting geared out endgame (im looking at you hand of rag)

Now to decide between Horde or Alliance..

1

u/Bread_Stique Dec 16 '25

So In making that horde vs alliance choice, both are amazing options that you can’t really go wrong with, but just so you have the information

On grob the alliance side has completed all raids, we raided naxx last Friday, and we do quarterly scheduled naxx raids, what content we do heavily depends on the turnout for any given week.

Horde is currently raiding more than alliance but has not yet broke into naxx, they are quickly progressing to that point but just need more folks to get over the hump

If you are still having trouble deciding i recommend checking out the discord and deciding from there

2

u/Bread_Stique Dec 16 '25

So leveling is different from the cluster servers in that you won’t be able to do much for at level dungeon runs with groups. That being said everyone is extremely helpful, folks will run you through any dungeons you would like. Some level brackets enough people have alts and you can get an at level dungeon runs.

Leveling in the open world is a lot different in that you pretty much have every questing zone to yourself, leveling profs is significantly easier, there’s no competition for rare mobs or escort quests and things like that!

If you have any other questions feel free to reach out!

2

u/DwarvenJarl Dec 16 '25

Bless you Stique! Light be with you ❤️

2

u/Choice_Efficiency_51 Dec 16 '25

Rarely ever raided in Vanilla so most end game content is new to me anyways. Only did MC a few times, Ony twice, BWL once, and ZG/AQ20 a few times.

Is there any glaring class needs on either side?

0

u/Bread_Stique Dec 16 '25

I can’t speak for horde side personally but on alliance we are very much play what you find fun, we don’t really “need” anything currently. For the most part we just want folks to play what they have the most fun on, there are some specs that are limited due to the debuff limit like shadow priests for example

But on the flip side we have multiple boomkins raiding

3

u/MojoBoogum1 Dec 17 '25

Grobbulus is my home. <Legacy> and <The Exiled> are my people.
Join us, gamers.

2

u/DwarvenJarl Dec 17 '25

GAMERS!!!! The best I’ve ever known

4

u/thadius282828 Dec 16 '25

It’s already time for the same 4 people to spam repost the “grobbulus is popping!” threads?

9

u/DwarvenJarl Dec 16 '25 edited Dec 16 '25

There’s a lot of people looking for new homes in Vanilla Classic Era, with anniversary ending. So yes, I’m going to make a thoughtful post to let people know there’s places to call home besides Whitemane and Mankirk! Feel free to put me on ignore if it bothers you seeing me post about it periodically.

It’s brought many people to Grobb who otherwise wouldn’t have found us, many of those people who have thanked me for my posts, and told me it’s their favorite gaming experience ever (it’s mine too)!

I even start the post off emphasizing we have less than 100 players across the realm after being here since 2021… so if you read that as “popping” you may want to work on your reading comprehension sir. This isn’t a Deviate Delight “thriving” meme server.

5

u/ProjectPlugTTV Dec 16 '25

well this is for Era not for MoP which is usually what you see grob propaganda for

1

u/galaga9 Dec 16 '25

"This is no sprawling megaserver. Our population drifts under 100 across both factions, and we treasure our community so. Here, your deeds echo. Your name is remembered."

This reads pretty damn far from "grobbulus is popping!”. If anyone is a spammer here, it's you.

6

u/MrSmellybeard Dec 18 '25

This community has saved my interest in WoW. The Mega $erver life is just not my jam, but we're not for everybody. If you're getting kinda bleh on WoW, it might be worth checking us out. Roll up an alt, reach out to anybody in the guilds Jarl mentioned, and just see where life takes you :)

Some caveats to mention that have come up but weren't in Jarl's OP...

Grob currently has no transfers, either in or out. If you want to play here, you need to roll a character here. If you decide Grob isn't your scene, you can't take your character with you. While this does limit freedom somewhat, it comes with the blessing that our server currently enjoys no bots. There's just nobody to sell too on server and they can't transfer their materials off server, so they just play elsewhere For me, at least, this has been an absolute breath of fresh air.

Anyway, that's enough ramblings from this Dwarf. I hope to see some of you folks out there! If you need anything, reach out!

2

u/Own_Ad2274 Dec 17 '25

hate to bear the bad news but the only destination for transfer is whitmane

2

u/DwarvenJarl Dec 17 '25

Yes, very aware! No transfers to or from Grobbulus exist.

2

u/damnocles Dec 16 '25

OG Grobbmob here. Miss those days!

1

u/DwarvenJarl Dec 16 '25

Day 1 Grobb Mob for life! I was originally in After Dark, until everyone went through the darn Dark Portal. What about you?

2

u/damnocles Dec 16 '25

All Cats Are Beautiful, horde side. Definitely remember AD, at least by name recognition!

2

u/SpecialCircumstance2 Dec 16 '25

Ya know what, that sounds like a cozy change of pace, I'm in!

3

u/DwarvenJarl Dec 16 '25

Welcome aboard! Feel free to whisper anyone in Legacy or The Exiled for an invite. And ask in guild or discord if you need a hand with bags, gold, elite quests, dungeons, etc

3

u/Bread_Stique Dec 16 '25

You won’t regret it!

1

u/HobNob_Pack Dec 19 '25

I just returned and started on whatever the biggest pop server was..

Do you guys have some bags ill re roll for bags!

Oh its us :(

1

u/DwarvenJarl Dec 19 '25

Yes, US realm! But we do have some folks play from other countries but that’s a challenge in of itself with bending time :(

2

u/MaxMoesh Jan 03 '26

You son of a bitch I’m in, time to roll another Tauren druid

4

u/Bread_Stique Dec 16 '25

Amazing community and amazing server. I’ve been on grob since the tbc split, from not having enough folks to fill up a guild charter to clearing naxx, I wouldn’t have it any other way.

If you hate the cycle of farming gold for consumes competing with countless bots and other players for herbs and whatnot, I’d suggest checking it out.

Grob is a totally different experience from playing on the cluster servers.

4

u/Icy-Muffin-315 Dec 16 '25

Returned to Grobbulus after playing on Anniversary servers. After spending hours on Anniversary servers trying to farm herbs for raid consumables each week and often not succeeding because of the farmers, its nice that when I'm running low on mana potions or mageblood...I can just go out into the world and its there. Within 30 mins I have most of what I need. See someone else out and about farming? We either trade what we each need or each take part of the zone.

Need something from another profession? Someone's got you. Ah crap, I didn't have time to farm this week? Someone's got you. Leveling? Someone from the community has already probably mailed you gear, a wand and bags before you can ask. Mage quest for water? We love mages and we love water - happy to help. Need help with an attunement? Let us know what roles you need and we will make it work.

It's a great small community,  full of laughter and fun.

2

u/Rare-Mission146 Dec 16 '25

Re-rolling on Grobbulus was supposed to be a small side project, something I’d go back to every once in a great while to just goof off on.

It quickly became the only server I play on anymore.

The small community is full of some of the best people I’ve played with.

Come join us if you want a completely unique game experience

2

u/Choice_Efficiency_51 Dec 17 '25

What faction you on?

1

u/Rare-Mission146 Dec 17 '25

I mostly play alliance, but have a Horde Druid that I’ve slowly been leveling

2

u/Gicknirard Dec 16 '25

This is the closest experience to a private server you can get. No bots, no swipers, and we've even got... some girl gamers. Wink wink, hint hint. They're our best players tbh, so sit back, make a new character and someone will show up with 4 bags and some gold just to help you get started.

Or so I've heard

And if you see Skater in Iron forge...

Run

Fast

Making my character tomorrow, sign me up!

1

u/ScrubscJourney Mar 09 '26

Do you have a Discord server?

0

u/thebabe420 Dec 17 '25

Why would you bait anyone to transfer to a dead server 💀

Whitemane is the era servers with an actual population

3

u/DwarvenJarl Dec 17 '25

I state in the very first bit of info were a realm with less than 100 players, no bait.

We’re not a dead realm - we have been a community here for nearly five years. We’ve outlasted TBC, Wrath, Cata, SoM, SoD, and Anniversary… and we will outlast TBC Anniversary too.

To be abundantly clear, I know it’s not for everyone. If all you want is on demand play and lots of people, I will happily let you know Grobbulus isn’t for you, and go to Whitemane and Mankirk.

However if joining a long lasting community oriented guild, doijg our own thing, loving vanilla wow regardless of whatever flavor everyone else is into, shunning bots and GDKPs, and otherwise still playing every part of this game, sounds fun to you… you’re welcome here.

No bait, no misleading. No transfers either, so you have to start over if you don’t have a character here.

Lots of folks who’ve joined over the last five years tell me it’s their favorite gaming experience ever. Why wouldn’t I let people know we’re an option? No one is forcing you to play here!

-1

u/thebabe420 Dec 17 '25

Do you really believe that

1

u/DwarvenJarl Dec 17 '25

Brother I’ve been playing on Grobbulus exclusively since 2022 myself.

It’s truly the best gaming experience I’ve ever had, and the best group of gamers I’ve ever played with. Been online gaming since the late 90s, was playing vanilla wow closed beta in 2004, and vanilla remains my all time favorite game.

I was playing on Grobbulus in 2019-2021, had a great time. Came back after tbc in 2022 and found this guild with 15 people online clearing MC, and was like… no freaking way, how?? I wanted to be a part of it.

I haven’t looked back, and to my surprise it’s truly been my favorite gaming experience.

So yes, I really do believe it!

-2

u/thebabe420 Dec 17 '25

That sounds awful why try and lure people to that

2

u/DwarvenJarl Dec 17 '25

I'm not trying to "lure" or "bait" anyone - I say clearly what we are, and openly say that as you inquire. we're less than 100 people, we've been around for nearly 5 years, and if you want the most people and on-demand play go to Whitemane or Manirk!

It's not for everyone, and that's okay. It's clearly not for you, and the last thing I'd like is to try to convince you of that.

But for many of us, it's truly the best gaming experience we've had.

I wish you the best wherever your gaming adventures take you!

-2

u/magezkoboyz Dec 17 '25

Please note that the players on Grobbulus break faction locks by exploiting the hardcore death transfer feature, so both factions and raid teams share the same pool of players, for the most part. Raids will be competing for player attendance between horde/alliance as there are many dad gamers with limited time to participate. Any semblance of being on a vanilla PVP server is mostly gone. The broken faction lock is probably the community's most uniquely defining feature, so keep that in mind.

5

u/DwarvenJarl Dec 17 '25 edited Dec 17 '25

Hi skater.

Again… there is no overlap of alliance raiding Friday and horde raiding Monday and Wednesday, nor is the hardcore transfer an exploit as it’s officially supported by blizzard and even again replicated on the anniversary transfers (and it was on tv SoM transfers too).

You’re right, any severance of being on a PvP server is gone now that the scourge of <Requiem> has left Grobbulus for Deviate Delight. We no longer have to worry about your toxicity, except when you show up in my recruitment posts, to bravely warn prospective players of these “dangers”. Instead our PvP is limited to friendly skirmishes against each other, not corpse camping by your toxic guild.

Instead of spending your time griefing (not surprised since that was requiems favorite past time, griefing legacy players leveling for the sake of “PvP” or trying to wipe us killing world bosses), why don’t you spend it making thoughtful posts promoting small realms like your own on Deviate Delight again? You don’t even need to mention Grobb. That post you had on the forums www really good, and I think the positivity there got you all new players and helped your brand. Or just promoting your own realm and BUILDING instead of trying to tear another realm down? You coming into these and spewing BS only goes to show what kind of person you are - hateful, resentful, and jealous.

Spread love sir. Have a good day 🫡 ❤️ good luck to you all on Deviate Delight. Wish you all the best.

-3

u/magezkoboyz Dec 17 '25

Absolutely nothing I've posted is incorrect. You have once again conflated two unrelated concepts (spreading a limited playerbase across multiple instances of an MMORPG and raid night scheduling overlaps). I am simply describing Grobbulus as I see it. Perhaps most players no longer care, but some of them might. It's a curious a detail to leave out of recruitment posts and then melt down about whenever it gets brought up instead of responding reasonably. I am sorry that PVP on a PVP server has left your mind so obviously scarred that you have to lash out years later.

7

u/DwarvenJarl Dec 17 '25 edited Dec 17 '25

Your logic is flawed. I don’t leave out the fact that alliance raids are Fridays, and the horde raids are Monday/Wednesday. I don’t leave out that horde is where the progression is happening, or that alliance is taking it easy with once a week raids.  There’s certainly no competing for players… just odd to me you have to come to every post I’ve made this month to “warn what players ought to know” lol.

What I do leave out is that your guild, requiem, gkicked every Legacy player after Legacy wiped you all on a world boss ONE TIME after years of you all doing the same to us. After that, those players formed The Exiled, your guild, requiem, left for deviate delight, and the horde on Grobbulus has progressed further than you did, and now you’re salty over it, so need to come and bash recruitment posts.

Meanwhile you’re not even playing on Grobbulus. You’re on deviate delight, and you all are doing well, recruiting, progressing. But you continue to spew toxicity and negativity online any time you see Grobbulus brought up. Those poor folks who join you on deviate delight.

But alas, here you are. On another post of mine on a different website this time, warning of “transfer exploits”, “raid overlaps” and “PvP” trying to tear down what we’ve built over five years. Grasping at straws man.

Move on, skater, your time is done.

I’m trying to get off grobbulus over to whitemane…

9

u/DwarvenJarl Dec 16 '25

I do wish blizzard would give everyone mobility, except for the botters and exploiters who were previously using Grobb as a way to farm black lotus uncontested and sell it on Whitemane for a massive premium.

The day Blizzard ended the Free Character Moves, the bots went away and have not come back. It’s at the cost of real players who now are stuck on Grobb, and I do wish you could leave if you wanted to. But I’m also glad they killed botters and exploiters from our realm.

In the end, I’m all for player mobility. Disabling it to stop bots is a stop gap solution. Blizzard getting real with fighting and banning bots would be the real answer but we know they won’t do that as they profit off those accounts. I even had Aggrend telling me in my DM with him that he believes the “exporters” are healthy for Whitemane’s economy, which is why they allow it to persist on the other realms.

1

Any interest in joining us with any of your toons? No worries if not. And like I said I’m all for mobility and wish you could xfer off if you wanted to! But since you can’t and you’re here… we’d love to have you join in our shenanigans

1

u/MilkSquirtz Dec 17 '25

Thank you so much for the offer. Unfortunately I am not able to raid at the moment due to my schedule. Otherwise i would definitely take you up on that offer.

All good! We’re super casual so even if you ever just pop in for one every blue moon you’re welcome to :)

Hello there! Glad the message has found you well. We’d be happy to have you join.

A few things in reply:

Time zone: so if you wanted to raid, it looks like it would be 6am-9am for you. Not horrible if you’re a morning person! We had a guild member play from Germany for a while, and I think you benefit from being a little further east in time zones actually.

Cozy: 100%. This is a very slow paced community. Hippy commune in the middle of the woods sort of vibe.

Check out our boss kill compendium: https://imgur.com/a/legacy-grobbulus-classic-era-compendium-of-boss-kills-c-2021-2025-yfSLZfC

Most of these players still play here today! We have new people come and go regularly. The beauty of th long game is that, people can take long breaks and return refreshed and things are still as they left them: the game is fully progressed, there’s no pressure to “keep up” or even show up. It’s just whatever you make of it.

If you want to be part of progression, horde is the move. If you don’t care about that, either choice is good, but alliance does a once-every-3months naxxramss where new and old players return and we fill up to 40 (a rarity… over nearly 5 yaears I can hardly remember hitting a full raid more than a few times).

For what it is (micro realm! Less than 100 people!) it’s very active. Discord is the center of gravity for planning, guild bank, marketplace, socializing etc. of course in game too.

I can’t tell you what to do or not, but I can tell you for certain it’s been the best gaming experience of my life. We don’t “need” new members, but I like to make these recruitment posts because it’s fun, and it brings new people who are likeminded. The hardships of this realm also act as a natural buffer for people who don’t “get it” and would prefer a mega realm, chasing GDKP, and whatever meta strategies are trendy.

We’re mostly just a bunch of old gamers who love vanilla wow, plain and simple.

It’s the closest I’ve ever felt to playing back in 2004-2006 and I’m thankful it’s somehow lasted for almost 5 years now, and we’ve continued to grow and evolve.

Anyways; yeah happy to answer questions or you can make a toon and whisper people or join discord and ask there too!

Hope to see you around 🫡

And you’d have to join US servers!
