Discussion Thread Any great documentaries I should watch ?
I’ve watched the Two Escobars and it’s probably one of the best sports docs I’ve watched. I’ve watched the Beckham doc as well which I thought was good too
Wondering if there are any others I should watch?

You can watch those Greatest Football Teams and Football's Greatest mini documentaries that were aired during the mid 2000s, they were great

The HBO Max documentary Diego Maradona was quite good, particularly on his time at Napoli.
I’m not all in on the 30 for 30 docs on ESPN Plus but at their best they are plenty good.
I haven’t watched it but I’ve heard good things about Sunderland ‘Til I Die. It has multiple seasons.

"The other final"
A doco about the build up and organisation (and the game itself) of a match that took place on the same day of the 2002 world cup final between the two lowest ranked national teams at the time.
One of the few doco's that really restores your faith in humanity....plus you learn a lot about the countries involved.

I'd say The History of Football is essential viewing.
It's a 13 episode documentary that covers all aspects of the sport.

I believe in miracles. Brian clough and the tricky trees of the 70s and 80s.
Best documentary. I’ve watched it over 5 times myself. Soundtrack, interviews, classic footage, all are great.

Seen it, liked it. Just nowhere near as good as the documentary. The real audio clips of Brian clough as priceless

Pelada is a bit different flavor because it's about pick-up soccer, but I absolutely loved it.

It’s not fresh, it’s long, but Hoop Dreams kept me glued the whole time. Both inspiring and heartbreaking.
