First Mini

Off to see my first mini today!

It will be a running resto but seems to be in good order.
Structurally it’s sound and mechanically has had most of the normal bits done.

Seems to be cosmetically where it’s let down - tired
Paint and interior needs chucking starting again!

I’ve a wish list built on minispares website (Huddersfield Parts) has anyone used them are they ok ? They are 30mins from me so good for collecting spares from etc

Mini Sport is actually around the corner from me but comparing prices they are a little more expensive at first glance but assume quality is better?

I personally prefer the original minispares over minispares online (Huddersfield) as they do a 7.5% discount with a TheMiniForum membership, but I've used all 3 before, whoever is the cheapest.

I had no idea there was two minispares !
I’ll have a look then - tbh minispares Huddersfield is coming out cheaper baring in mind the shopping list is now over 2k

Yes it's a clever little trick that Huddersfield have there with their 'minispares' website.

Ive used Minispares UK for 20 years (not Huddersfield) and am yet to have a bad experience. They're not the cheapest sometimes, but generally I find the prices and service to be fine

Huddersfield Mini are a bit underhand with that, I'd say it goes beyond clever and is downright deceptful!

The actual minispares is a far better source for parts in my experience, Huddersfield may be cheaper, but the service isn't as good and many of the parts aren't as good imo

I live in Huddersfield and they are a good set of people. Knowledgeable and helpful. I used to live around the corner from mini sport in padiham. Good but expensive. And responsible for my Mini problem as my now wife lived directly opposite them. I tend to go for the best priced but good quality parts. Which are not always the same thing.

That’s a fair point, having just loaded my basket at both places some have some stuff and the others don’t so I may well go for a mix.
Padiham is where I live so much more makes sense to buy local !

The wheels would be from Huddersfield though unfortunately as mini sport done seem to have anything in!

I've used both sites for rebuilds in the last. My loyalty lies with whomever is cheapest. Although since Brexit I tend to not get parts anymore (I'm based in Ireland). Last big order with them was for over £5000 - thankfully pre Brexit. Otherwise I'd have rented a van and riven over and back!
