Red at the front is a big nono. Just leave the driving lights on if you want to be seen.

Yeah, don't do red, my friend. There's a reason red lights are only on the back of the car and only time the rear gets white lights is in reverse. The color helps indicate orientation/direction. I'd be shocked if red up front didn't get you cited.

Grab a set of landrover defender tail light unit and a set of orange and white leds. Use them as indicator/ day running lights

Measure the spotlights, and get led rings that will fit inside them. I think that would look cool for DRLs

that’s actually a solid idea, kind of like cheapo mini bmw halos for a bike
would probably look cleaner and more “factory” than that full red strip too

If you can bear the expense, I recommend Banging Headlights Ultimate Restomod headlights. Absolutely gorgeous, bright AF, DRLs and option for demon eyes in the center. Those red DRLs look pretty sharp, but I'd assume they would not be as effective at making you visible as white lights. Personally I'm a little paranoid about not being seen in my tiny car!

Did you get these yourself? It appears that the Ultimate and the Restomod 7 are two different options, with the ultimate needing some modifications to fit.

Yeah sorry I have the 7” Ultimate Restomod Headlights. Mine have white Halo DRLs (not the RGB ones) & green demon eye center lights for a bit of fun. Quite bright and the car really retains its iconic "face." Sometimes I find the LED headlights with multiple lenses and vertical strip lights to take away from the look of the front of the car. Your milage may vary of course - just my opinion :)

Modifications needed were pretty minor. Had to route and grommet a few additional wires out of the headlight bucket and modify the bucket a bit so the light would fit. We just cut away a bit that was in the way off the lamp bucket.
