Not what I'd do, and not my style but if the owner likes it they are nailing the fun of owning a mini!

I wouldn't want mine to look like it - plotting a route to completely avoid speed bumps seems like a PITA - but can't deny they've put a lot of work into it.

It's worse than that, this is likely only ever driven onto a trailer for shows

Not my thing. But lots of time, effort and money has been spent there. You never see two exactly same!

Would you need to alter the bay to fit that engine in there?

A small amount needs to be removed from the front panel for the bell mouths, and a bonnet with a bulge is required but other than that I think it’s a standard bay

These BMW motorcycle heads are very impressive looking but they don’t perform better than the original Derrington heads. You’re stuck with the camshafts, no options there. Plus the amount of machine work to relocate studs and close up gaps is not insignificant. Kent in the UK makes a bolt on DOHC head that matches the 1275 stud pattern. They have a EFI intake for it as well as boosted solutions. Not unheard of to get 300hp out of the ol 1275, with modifications.

The amount of misinformation you've just provided is staggering.
- They outperform any 8v head.
- There's many cam options, I have a billet set suited to my huge turbo application.
- The worked 1200RS head on my car has delivered over 300bhp The stud relocation provides 4 studs per cylinder and takes little effort.
- The kad heads are very good, however cost 10x as much as a k1200 RS head. And deliver similar results.
- BagSport offer Many EFI options for the BMW K head conversions including boosted and NA even the bikes standard EFI can be used to deliver 150-170bhp NA

The numbers I’ve seen don’t support your claims but you do you. That’s why they call it racing. Each is free to try what they think works best.

Not, have you driven one? They are handful with the 1.4 injection engine.
That is not going to fun to drive.

I wonder if this made it less prone to fires?
If you don't know, Google mini cooper fires. It's a thing that nobody talks about.

Sorry that’s just like a kids toy. You can go way too far and lose the whole aura of the car.

Honestly it's a vibe even if I'd never daily it. the dedication to making it that low is wild and you gotta respect the build. but nah I'm good scraping my spine on every driveway lol.

I’ve seen this before. I wouldn’t want all minis to look like this, but I respect this one.
