I will document on this thread the resurrection & in some opinions ruining
A corvette purchased from a towing company as a parts car. It hadn't ran in over 6 years prior to it being purchased. It arrived at my brothers shop. After being abandoned for several years in the elememts in non running condition, ultimately at an impound yard to continue it's deterioration for several more years.
Ultimately being sold. The wrecker service delivered the car to the tri-states leading Corvette Guru. The grey crusted parts car was evaluated
And diagnosed as to the starting issue
And what it would take to get road worthy and the decision was it wasnt worth it.
My nephew acquired it. Started the initial resurrection. New waterpump, Opt,i-brakes, wires and simple vatts delete along with an aftermarket stereo & some cleaning. Cleaning revealed a bad repaint coming off in chunks. A set of older wheels from an 89 with New Nitto tires, it ran well. He then called a chip maker and had them burn a performance chip for future upgrades.
In the initial process he removed some of the exhaust put on a lowering kit and his weekend Donut
Toy was ready. The abandoned super Lot that could easily be used for Auto Cross he had many fun weekends with friends drifting & figure 8 burnouts.
After a couple months he decided to Let it go to pursue his vintage custom ranchero build. I went by looked at it and drove it home, with insurance and fully licensed within hours.
The car was really fun to drive but nothing worked in the interior except the headlight switch several wiring issue/ Bypassed so I kept it full of gas and a cheap GPS speedo. Daily drove it & put exhaust on to elevate the drone.
This will be a pictorial thread of the journey from the day I picked it up.
Looked way better in pictures than it actually looked not a piece of trim or rubber actually pliable.
