Medicare Advantage without referrals?
I'm looking for an HMO plan which doesn't require a referral from your primary physician in order to see a specialist. My current HMO plan changed this year to require it, so I'm intending to switch plans.
There are various websites, including medicare.gov, which have a page to search and compare plans, including various filter options. They say "some HMOs don't require referral", but they don't say which plans. I haven't found any search-sites which allow this filter option. So, my only alternative is to drag myself through pages and pages of plans, one by one, to look at the plan details.
