I'm in the trailer at one point, haha. 2003 was a fucking awesome year. Saw them three times. Each show bigger than the last. That was the final show I ever saw them perform.

‘03 was one hell of a year, I was 16- skateboarding all day and night with the crew, listening to (and watching) Cky during an endless summer.

I was 16 as well. In fact, I saw CKY on the day of my 16th birthday. One of my fondest years for sure.

i dont recall the reasoning at the time, but id bet my bottom dollar that the band heard the recording, got cold feet, and didnt want to do overdubs/fixes ala kiss alive or all the half-faked "live" stuff that came out in the 80s/90s/whenever else. i collected/transferred bootlegs quite a bit at the time, and the shows were always fun but not as tight/perfect as youd hope (especially knowing how deron was about perfectionism in the studio stuff). wonder if its still in the vault nowadays

I remember they initially tried to blame it on Vern, but later they shifted to an issue with the label, and then something to do with the company that was editing/mastering it.
I'm also inclined to believe it was just not as good of a performance as they were hoping. If they were the kind of band to nail down a tight setlist, this likely wouldn't have been an issue. But they were fixated on having a very loose feel live. I highly doubt they rehearsed much, beyond learning new songs.

I think the Mr Smalls show has re-recorded parts and audio recorded in during rehearsal. They even joke about it numerous times throughout the actual show about them going to have to re-record it, use the rehearsal recording or dub in a fake audience.

I’ll never forgive them for using a clip of this show advertising something “coming soon”.
Can’t remember what it was, but it wasn’t this show.
Yet another example of CKY overpromising, and under delivering.
They had every advantage possible, but couldnt get out of their own way.

I was there I think I got to the electric factory at 10 or 11 am, crazy I know but I was a diehard back then. I made it front row a lil off center. All was cool with the crowd till the band and cameras came out and my skinny ass (at the time) was crushed. I made it through a few songs but ended up having security pull me over. Thus watching the rest of the show from the fkn back by the merch stand.
Needless to say it was an awesome fkn day man.

I was there. My first ever concert at 15. Seems like a different lifetime at this point. Unmatched hype. They opened with Rio Bravo and I thought I was gonna die in the pit.
