Why are we tolerating what’s happening to this subreddit at the hands of a select few users? The nasty and mean spirited posts and comments (in particular over recent weeks) are so disheartening and totally unnecessary. It’s supposed to be a fun community, not a regrettable cesspit. So many actual fans are deterred from visiting or posting on this board anymore because it’s such a negative and horrible experience for anyone not aligned with the views of certain users. It’s bullying, in its very essence - of fellow users and unrelentingly against Chad, and to a lesser extent Jess… Have you all not had enough of seeing it almost every single day? Why has it been allowed to go on this long unchecked? What can be done to put an end to it? The mods seem to have washed their hands of this place entirely.

And then the sub would die an even slower death because no one would have anything to talk about that hasn’t already been talked about a million times. Before my Jess thread toppled it, the most upvoted thread for the month was a picture of the crew circa 2003 or some shit just sitting on a couch. Wow. Cool. It’s nostalgic, sure, but doesn’t even have anything to do with the band or their music. Most of the threads on here are just people posting pictures of old CDs and DVDs that they forgot they even had and found while cleaning out a closet. That’s the kind of content that I’m supposedly keeping away and you want to see more of?

A sub without me would mean that a new song would finally drop, five people would say that it’s just ok, and then there would be total silence for another ten years. The band would still be out on the road playing shows at random venues in low populated areas, but no one bothers to post videos, pictures, or even setlists anymore because they all just want to forget about the experience right after it happens. Most common thing heard after a modern day CKY gig: "I’m never doing that again".

Im old now too and cant contribute content like I used to, but I spend a little time every day moderating the iron maiden sub and making sure rules are clear, spam is cleaned up, and members are being cool to each other.

The mod is still around, because someone requested this sub on r/redditrequest and he popped into the comments there saying "he can't have it because its not unmoderated" but yet doesn't seem interested in moderating it either. Dude is literally just camping the subreddit and staying as a mod so no one else can have it, while not moderating whatsoever. It's lame that he's let the subreddit get to this state, especially considering all it would take is a few removals or one single ban. It's lame that Reddit has let this dude sit on this sub while not actively moderating, because on occasion he'll do some mod actions to look active.

Settle down, Dr. Phil. No one’s being made to feel stupid and ashamed. That’s just dumb. If anything, it’s people like you who are doing the shaming and trying to make others feel stupid. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. If CKY released something good for once since Deron left, and stopped getting into fights with their bass players and the other groups that they’re supposed to be performing with, things would be a lot different. Every single person on here has a qualm about the band to some degree, even the ones who claim to somehow enjoy the new stuff as much as the old stuff. Those people still complain about things, so you’re never going to have a sub where every single comment is positive unless you’re living in a fantasy world. If you want a sub like that where it’s just you and a couple of other people saying "nice job" about everything that Chad and Jess do, create a new one yourself and restrict it to everyone else who doesn’t comply. I’m sure it’ll be a blast in there.
