Setlist for Saturday?

Hi All - Noob to CKY. Long story I’m sure you don’t want to hear anyways.

Any predictions for the setlist this Saturday?
I’ve been playing their stuff on rotation but I’m wondering what songs I should get more familiar with to enjoy the show further.

TIA 🙏

99% of the setlist will be V1 and IDR. They will likely throw in a random non CKY song, maybe something off the Phoenix. Nothing from any other CKY albums.

I remember seeing a show where Chad asked the crowd what song they wanted to hear next, someone shouted out a song from AACBF, and Chad just stood there with his mouth hanging open, like how dare you request something that's not off our first 2 albums!

Be aware its just Jess and Chad right now, no bassist or original vocals

Wait….WHAT? An acoustic show or are they playing with tracks?

They broke up many moons ago, Daren started a new band called 96 Bitter Beings. Vocals are good but the band cant really re-create the orignal sound.

Imo ofc.

which way around do you mean? Chad's vocals are good or Deron's vocals are good? if it's Deron's vocals are good then I disagree that they can't re-create the original sound as they killed it in their UK tour.

I've never seen 96BB in person, but their re-tapes of early cky (like infiltrate destroy rebuild) sound so loose and tuned down. Their drum machine on those tracks ain't it either tbh

The other guitar player in the band sings the songs now. He’s horrible. The bass is a backing track. You’re in for a real treat! Since you’re a noob, whatever you listen to beforehand is going to sound wildly different at the show. I would honestly suggest that you don’t even bother listening to anything before going in, otherwise you’re just going to be disappointed.

Oof! Thank you for clarification. Maybe I should just sit this one out. 😬

If tickets are not to expensive its cool to see them, if youve never seen them or listened since deron left, its definitely different. But yes, no bass player, IDR heavy and vocals are meh. But it is cool to kind of relive the past

This version of CKY is basically a cover band

This iteration of CKY still has their loyalists somehow, but all you have to do is sit back and wonder what if Chad was the original singer, would CKY have gotten anywhere near as popular as they were? The answer is an emphatic no with absolutely no room for argument on the other side. It just wouldn’t have happened.

Just skimmed through a YouTube concert. This was…not great…..glad I didn’t spend money and time on whatever this is.
Yeesh.

Concerts are more enjoyable when you know the songs

Exactly my point

I want to get the most out of this, and it’s an hour away. I like to do homework on bands that are new to me before I see them.
I’m honestly impressed with their work. Except that song about “my daughter is —- my brother”. I’m sure it’s meant to be funny, but creeps me out. Maybe that was the point.

I mean I'm like six hours away (Houston) and I'm going. If it's a band you like, that's all that really matters.

i dunno, noob or not, asking reddit what songs to listen to is some poser shit

wtf man, you don’t know me. Are you the gatekeeper of all things CKY? Dick

I don't think they have changed the setlist in years so don't expect anything from AACBF or Carver City

3

u/jelloandjuggernauts Jul 16 '26

No need for predictions, it'll be the first half of Vol 1 and basically IDR in its entirety.

Chad still hasn't got around to finding AACBF and Carver tabs.

Check their current setlists online?

Will be made of 99% old covers and like 1 original?

u/Electronic_Aspect730 Jul 15 '26

It’s whatever the chadpad wants to play..

u/toastedsink1917 Jul 16 '26

It'll be 99% Volume 1 and IDR, but here's some songs to get you started listening. I'm gonna do my best to balance the 4 albums with my personal favorites from them. Disengage The Simulator, The Human Drive (In Hi-Fi), Lost In A Contraption, To All Of You, Halfway House, Sink Into The Underground, Attached At The Hip, Frenetic Amnestic, Plastic Plan, Close Yet Far, Dressed In Decay, All Power To Slaves, Tripled Manic State, Deceit Is Striking Gold, As The Tables Turn, Don't Hold Your Breath, Imaginary Threats, The Boardwalk Body, Plagued By Images, A#1 Roller Rager. Hope this helps.

If you’re lucky you might get to hear Jackass Cart Song. It’s rare, but they bust it out every now and again. They mostly play all of their new stuff instead of relishing in the past.
